By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Thursday, June 11, 2009 - 09:29 am:

Good morning! I just want to share with you all that we lost a very dear friend on Tuesday. Laurel Zechlinski (llamamama to pasty people) died of a brain aneurysm that she suffered this past weekend. She was a dear friend to all, humans and animals alike. She will be so missed because we loved her dearly. She was too young to go. Please pray for her wonderful husband, and her beloved llamas. We love you, Laurel!!! Save a place for us!

By Liz B (Lizidaho) on Thursday, June 11, 2009 - 09:58 am:

Having had emails galore amoung us, Laurel was ever so witty and wrote so well. She would turn little life adventures into wonderful stories.
I am truly very sad at her sudden trip to heaven.
She didn't suffer. As Deb said, "We love you, Laurel!!!

By Fran in GA (Francesinga) on Thursday, June 11, 2009 - 10:20 am:

Oh my God, I am in shock! I just had a call from Kay M and learned of our Laurel's passing. We all loved her so and enjoyed her fantastic ability to tell stories about her llamas and other happenings in her life. We all will miss her. You were loved by all of us, Laurel

By Laurie B. (Ratherberiding) on Thursday, June 11, 2009 - 10:29 am:

Laurel was special. She had a wonderful way of telling us stories about her llamas, her chickens, her beagles and her loving husband. I wouldn't be surprised if she is just shaking her head at all of us, wondering why the fuss. We never met her in person, but we loved her dearly.

By Mary Drew at Pasty Central (Mdrew) on Thursday, June 11, 2009 - 11:22 am:

RIP Llamamama...my sympathy to friends, family and critters, too.

By Michael Du Long (Mikie) on Thursday, June 11, 2009 - 12:38 pm:

Laurel had a way of brightening up my day with her stories of life in the llama and chemical world. Many a day when I was down she would lift my spirits and give me a laugh. She is one of the greatest people I have had the pleasure of knowing. I am sure that all the "Rejects" are now suffering from the fact that our lives will be a little duller and sadder without her emails. We will miss hearing about how Elmer and the rest of the llamas are doing. We will miss hearing of her love for Mr. Z and their adventures. As much as her friends are suffering her menagerie will miss her also. Mr. Z, you have my condolences. The "Rejects" will have many a tear for your beloved Laurel.

By Cheryl Rozman (Cotton) on Thursday, June 11, 2009 - 02:01 pm:

I also will miss Laurel. She did give us "Rejects" & others a reason to smile or laugh when she wrote to us. She so loved her llamas & Mr Z. We got to know them wellby her writings. She was always so cheerful & would bring you up when you were feeling down. God takes the good ones first & he picked one of the best when he choose Laurel to go with him. He must have needed someone to care for his animals & who could be more caring & loving to them than Laurel. We'll miss her. :(

By maija in Commerce Township (Maija) on Thursday, June 11, 2009 - 02:15 pm:

I also send condolenses to llamamama's friends and family and animals and will miss her comments.

I have to ask: rejects?

By Thomas Baird (Thomas) on Thursday, June 11, 2009 - 03:28 pm:

My condolences to all of the friends of Laura.

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Thursday, June 11, 2009 - 03:39 pm:

Maija, for a while we had trouble fitting in here on pasty and so we all got together and considered ourselves a bunch of pasty rejects. We'd laugh about that. I wish you all could have known her. She was truly one of the best! Our hearts have been broken. Mr Z (as she called her husband) has lost a wonderful person who loved him deeply.

By Janie T. (Bobbysgirl) on Thursday, June 11, 2009 - 04:00 pm:

I am so sorry to hear about Laurel's passing. She "talked" to me a bit about my miniature horses. My sincere condolences to all her families, both people and pets.

By Liz B (Lizidaho) on Thursday, June 11, 2009 - 04:05 pm:

Both Laurel and Mr. Z graduated from Tech. Laurel was from the Kingsford area.

By Janie T. (Bobbysgirl) on Thursday, June 11, 2009 - 04:08 pm:

Reading everyone's kind and heart-felt memories and thoughts of Laurel, I just don't understand how you all could be considered "rejects"! Sounds to me there is a lot of love among you all! God Bless You!

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Thursday, June 11, 2009 - 04:26 pm:

Janie, thank you. You make me start crying. We do all love each other so much. There are (were) 10 of us and now there will be 9. There will be such a void without her. She was wonderfully witty and made our days just that much brighter. A lot of us have met in St. Ignace the last couple of summers, but she hasn't been able to fit that in as of yet, but she was working on it. Some day we'll be together with her again. Until that day comes, she'll be forever in our hearts.

By Beverly, San Jose (Beverly) on Thursday, June 11, 2009 - 04:33 pm:

My condolences to Ron. Laurel was a very dear friend of mine, and I too enjoyed her adventures in the stories she told. She could always bring a smile to your face and make you laugh with her writings. I will miss her as I am sure everyone who knew her will also.
Beverly

If Laurel knew how upset we all are, the countess of chemicals would be smacking us over the head with her royal sceptor.

Thank you to Mr.Z for sharing your wonderful wife with us "rejects". She brought much joy and happiness to our lives. Her charm and humor brought a smile to our day. I think I can speak for our reject family, (I say family because that is what we have become over the years) when I say that she has had more impact on our lives then she will ever know. Please know that she loved and adored you. You brought her life meaning and much love.

To everyone else out there in Pastyland. Laurel was kind. In memory and respect for her, please go out of your way to do an act of kindness. Whether it is holding a door open for someone, a friendly hello or even just a warm smile. If everyone did that the world would be a much better place. Appreciate what you have, hug your loved ones and tell those you love how much they mean to you. Tomorrow is another day and you may not have the opportunity.

By Shirley Waggoner (Shirlohio) on Thursday, June 11, 2009 - 06:03 pm:

Sincere condolences to Laurel's husband and family. I can see (read) that she'll be missed greatly by a lot of friends. May God comfort you all!

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Thursday, June 11, 2009 - 09:04 pm:

Condolences and heartfelt sympathy to Ron (Mr. Z as he was known to us) I'm trying to come up with the words I had in my head earlier but all of a sudden they aren't there. Laurel, you will be missed by all who knew you! You helped me keep my sanity these last 3 years along with the rest of our little bunch. You're acid wit was greatly appreciated on the down days! I hope you're in a happier place raising llamas and chickens and knighting the imbeciles! I'll miss you my friend! Mr. Deb

By Pennie (Trolldiva) on Thursday, June 11, 2009 - 09:10 pm:

Deb I love the knighting the imbeciles line. That's great.

By kosk in Toronto (Koskintoronto) on Friday, June 12, 2009 - 06:44 am:

I would also like to add my condolences to the Llamamama's
husband and animal family. I remember reading many of her
entries on Pasty Cam and can tell that she had an impact on a
whole lot of people. I checked the obituaries from her hometown,
but didn't find one yet.

By Charlotte, Mishawaka, IN (Charlotte61) on Friday, June 12, 2009 - 07:01 pm:

My condolcences to all who loved Laurel. Her animal stories always made me chuckle. God truly needed her to help with the animals.

By Fran in GA (Francesinga) on Friday, June 12, 2009 - 07:38 pm:

Dave, no storm yet but we could get one tonight. We had a dandy one yesterday with a tornado watch alert. Fran
