A week ago, the Houghton County Historical Society and Museum, held a Santa Train event for children of all ages to take a ride around the campus tracks in Lake Linden. Steve Haagen and family, were on hand to partake of the fun of a winter train ride, all bundled up against the cold.

Then the family set off on their property to search for the perfect Christmas tree, only they forgot to bring a sled along for the littlest Haagen and Steve's comment was, "Did you ever try to carry a wiggle butt, in a snow suit?". So they did what they could and improvised with a wheelbarrow ride for the youngest tree hunters in the family. Fun memories were made that day, that will bring smiles to those kids faces for years to come.

How can kids not have fun during the Christmas Season?

The undiluted joy and excitement in the children's faces, especially during this season, help to remind me that all of life is good and should be enjoyed to the fullest! A snowball fight or two doesn't hurt, either. And Steve, wigglebutts are the funnest packages to carry when perfect-tree-hunting!! Especially when you put them down! :)

Fun pics! There is the tiniest bit of sunlight on the ground, just behind the wheel of the wheelbarrow. Like Swamp Thing, I am always looking for the sunshine.

Yes indeed, those little ones will remember the wheelbarrow rides.....I do! Gotta say though, their ride looks smoother than mine was....my daddy's barrow had an all-metal wheel....bumpity-bump.:-/

Ah the Joy and Wonder! That's riding in style two ways.

All those kids (older as well as younger) are having
a blast. Sure can't beat the UP for fun. Wish I
was there.
