I think I need to get my computer looked at. I started typing at 7:30 and my answer showed up at 7:33. I hate it when that happens.

I loved the ST.Joseph's Church picture.

Deb: It may not be your computer. First off, the time stamp on the Pasty Cam post is based on the server's time, not your PC's time. So even though your PC showed 7:30AM when you started typing, the Pasty Cam server may have already been at 7:32AM. Second, most people don't realize that the Internet is a network of PC's. When you send anything out, it leaves your PC and goes to your Internet Service Provider's (ISP) server. From there it goes to your ISP's ISP, and on up the chain to a backbone server, then back down the chain of ISP's until it reaches the Pasty Cam. Any one of those links could be busy meaning traffic is delayed, or any one of those servers could be a little slow, while your competition for that Early Bird may have gotten lucky and been on a fast link. I'm not saying your PC can't be slow, but there's a lot more involved than just your PC.

Can't imagine what it was like for married offficers' families to live UP north basically cut off especially during the winter. Good shot.

The Robins and Redwing Blackbirds are back home in my yard here in rural Linn County Iowa. Sounds like spring is here! :)

When we lived in Auburn Hills we always saw hawks. We called them chicken hawks. Saw one swoop down and grab something and continued to fly with it.

Sitting here right now watching Detroit Public TV56 "A Stern View--the Journey begins"!
Streaming video production with relaxing background music, no narration. Great Lakes Lighthouses, Lake Ports, Harbors, Freighters, Ice Breakers, Coast Guard Cutters, Sunrise, Sunsets, Shore views, Bridges, View from atop Big Mac and footage on the bridge from end to end, Lots of winter ice views, Whitefish Point, Portage Canal, Marquette Docks etc. etc. Awesome! Beautiful! Excellent documentary--a must see!
Most of the ships pictured, we are privileged living near the St. Clair River to have seen and got beautiful close up photos of many!

Russemmons...that sounds grand! Wonder if it's avaliable on dvd. Maybe for membership in PBS? I just phoned in my new membership to WPT of Madison Wisconsin. Public tv is the best!

By Russell E. Emmons (Russemmons) on Friday, March 12, 2010 - 12:07 am:

Mskatie: Yes, definetly available on DVD! I should have mentioned that. Of course with a donation to the station one gets a copy but it's likely available at regular prices where DVDs are sold.
I'm thinking it will be rerun later tonight on TV 56!
