My niece Paula Drew, her husband, Dan and their two year old daughter, recently spent 10 days hiking over at Isle Royale National Park and she reports that it was amazing. You can get an idea of how amazing, by the beautiful scenes here today. That's just a small sampling of the serenity that surrounds you every moment you are there on the Island. Hiking cross country over there is a challenge for anyone, but add into the mix, a very precious little two year old camper and it becomes quite the experience. This little sweetie did really well over the course of the 10 days and here again, the pictures tell the story...look at that smiling face and tell me she didn't love being out there, enjoying everything that nature had to offer. I'd venture to say that she is possibly one of the youngest camper/hikers Isle Royale has ever seen. She's a lucky little lady, that her folks made the extra effort to take her along on such an amazing journey.

A good family togetherness! Need to know, is Dan playing "Tip Toe Through the Tulips" for the entertainment?

Wow...how incredible...that's how families are supposed to do it!!! God Bless them~!!

Nice pictures. The Island presents so many great
photo ops, you can shoot from the hip and still get
picture postcards.

Those of us that have been there to hike really appreciate the efforts to do this with a two year old. Hopefully the bugs were not to bad and they were able to find an open shelter each night.

I meant to but forgot to comment on the second photo....looks like it was made in the tropics! Beautiful!
Travelling with a 2yr old can be so much fun...I remember times like that with our daughter, Pam...she thought she was 12 and not 2.:)

Cute little girl and a happy-looking family. What a great trip! Too bad she won't remember it, but maybe they can go back again when she's older. Thanks for sharing the photos!

The magic of these folks's trip shows thru even with the few photos. Can't wait til I visit daughter Sue to hear about her recent hike on the Isle Royal alone. She has taken her kids the thru the years. Now that they are grown she goes alone. That floors me but I admire her so much. I tease her as "Mother Nature". In my generation I couldn't do the same. We're having a "cool spell" high of 88!today.

I've never been to Isle Royale; I think at this point I should have tried it when I was younger & in better shape. In regard to travelling with a 2-year old, at least she probably wouldn't whine "I'm bored" like my 12-year old niece is prone to do.

I have read two mystery novels set in Isle Royale written by Nevada Barr, "Superior Death" and "Winter Study". Those of you who have been to Isle Royale might get a kick out of them (or mught have fun poking holes, who knows).

I have not been to the island in several years. It is one of the most peaceful places anywhere. Thank you for sharing the beautiful photos!

Beautiful. I hope I can visit Isle Royale someday.
