Good Morning. I hope everyone takes a moment of silence, in honor of the tenth anniversary of 9/11 today. In my mind, at least, 9/11 sits right there with 12/7/1942, as horrible days in American history. I really wish that the kids today were being taught real history like my generation was, but they are not, sadly, at least not here in our town. The curriculum committee for the schools has taken most of the history out of the social studies programs.

Good morning. Cold here this morning at least in the house. Jimmie the fat white cat keeps going over to the floor register waiting for heat. He has a long wait.

I don't know how many can watch this without getting even a little emotional (can be found at bottom of the page).

"Good Morning"- The wife and I were talking this morning about what we were doing ten years ago today. I said that I can recall my memories of when President Kennedy was killed. But I can also recall the joy of being there when my daughte Kara was born. It's amazing what memories we hold on to, and which ones we put back in our minds. "Say their NAME so that they will not be forgotten".

The morning of 911:
Our day started out sunny and warm at the office, which was on the 13th floor of a high-rise building located in Troy, MI. Sometime during the morning a co-worker said something in a tone of voice that she had never used before: 'Something bad is happening in New York'.
10 minutes later, my employer walked by my office on the way to the conference room and said ‘I think we had better turn on the television‘.
After that, the day that started out so sunny and warm, slowly began to turn cold and dark.

Almost forgot. My Aunt Martha lost a cousin in the WTC. Also, some of today's comic strips had something to say about today. They're posted on yesterday's pasty cam.

Oops! Sorry about the typo. That should have read 12/7/1941, a "day that will live in infamy", which was before even my much older brother was born, nine months later, in September 1942. I guess maybe that's why I missed the year the first time, as I knew better than that.
