In Memory of Marine Cpl. Paul Miller of Lake Ann, Michigan, killed in Afghanastan this month. He (and his wife, Sarah) worked at my place of employment before he joined the Marines.

In Memory of Diane Vance Mullins, step-daughter of "Walking Tall" Sheriff Buford Pusser, who died July 15 (I have talked with Buford's daughter Dwana on occasion).

Prayers for the two teenage boys who died Wednesday in a grain bin accident in our small town. Prayers and care for their families and friends.

Grieving the loss of one of my sisters who went to be with our Lord on July 6, 2010. My dear Marjorie (Waddell) had hip-replacement surgery in April and never fully recovered due to a bacterial infection. She was not only my sister, she was my friend.

To Melody...yesterday was a hard day for me, but I had to make that decision for it was the only one out of love and dignity I had for you. You were a joy and pleasure to own and you will live on in your son, Jimmy. The other miniature horses here you called your family are missing you as well. Rest in Peace Melody, Heaven is now your pasture to romp in pain free. You will be so missed!

In memory of my Dad Chester J Wetton, Bootjack Pioneer 1905-2006. He made it to beyond his 100th Birthday. What a memory he had, and the stories he could tell. Missed by many.

Remembering Chester Wetton today also. Endless stories and always a friendly Hello to one and all. Rest in peace. The memories will carry on.

It greatly saddens me that Lt. Col. Dick Rupley passed away. He was my military history professor at Tech and I always enjoyed a good conversation with him about many of the great battles in history.

AND, Chet Wetton was one of the coolest people on this planet!! He touched so many people...young and old...He was the epitome of Unconditional Love, and it made no difference if you were one of his visitor's, one of their rugrats, or a chipmunk looking for a peanut. He loved everyone. Rest In Peace...Better yet...I'd be willing to bet Chet is on the "Welcome Home" Committee on the other side, and one of the first smiles we will all see someday!!!

In memory of so many family who have passed. I am happy to be back home to visit them & cut the grass at the cemeteries in Houghton & Hancock. My Grandpa Robert (Beanie ) Gilbert Grandma Lilian - my father David ( Fatso ) Hiltunen mother Elenore (Tooty ) sister Judith Patana her daughter Leanne. So many aunt's & uncle from both sides now passed.. My uncle Chester J Wetton married to my fathers sister Lil. I thought the world of uncle Chet. He remembered me with a hello Dave not so many years ago after not seeing me in many years at the camp in Bootjack. Then told me to go say hello to my uncle Frenchy Clyde Clouthier next camp over. Yes, what a memory he had. I know he will be there to greet me when my time comes

Janie, your post so touched my heart. My condolences to you on the passing of your beloved horse. It's so hard to do the right thing by them, but somehow we manage.

For some reason, Phyllis Kuusisto rings a bell wiht me also. Don't know if they were friends of my family's or not. Will have to ask my mom.

Remembering all of my friends and family who are no longer with us. I will be taking a trip to the cemeteries while I'm here.

Mostly remembering my dad as we will finally be burying his ashes this week. It will be hard but it has to be done. I just do not feel up to reliving it. We will spread some of his ashes in the rivers he so loved to fish on. We ate many a brook trout caught in those rivers.
