Whether it's a sunrise or a sunset, Robert C. Wetton always seems to be in the right place to snap a photo and preserve the moment for us all. Of course it helps that his summer home is in Bootjack, where he gets a good view of the setting sun and his winter home in Dollar Bay is on a hill, giving him a good vantage point to watch the sun rise for the day. Today's rising spectacle, gives you the impression that the sky has just burst into flames.

In the general direction of this scene is the site of the Atlas Powder Company at Senter, the subject of this morning's Day in History.

Good morning! Looks like Santa will have an easy landing on roof tops this year! Plenty of snow throughout the Upper Peninsula!

Wow! That is our home (gray one) under the beautiful sunrise.

One of those beautiful winter pictures where warm colors in the sky contrast with the cold and snowy ground.

Dr. Nat and I saw a beautiful sunrise this morning while flying over Ireland on our way to Frankfurt, Germany to visit family for Christmas. I'm sure this won't be the last message while we're here, but considering we've been awake since 8:30 a.m. yesterday, I believe it's time for bed!!

As soon as I saw RCWs photo I knew the view was from his yard before reading the text!

Years of growing up in Dollar Bay, Woodside, Hancock & Pewabic, had never been to Senter but did finally summer of 2008 when we made it up! My Uncle Jim took us on a grand tour and I got lots of nice photos! Had bought Bill Hallers fine book about Senter. 2nd edition was due to be out. Is it now?--I want one!
