Driving down the Rice Lake Road on her way to work, Jamie Harter spotted this rainbow guiding her way. If you look closely on the right-hand side, you'll see the faint glow of another rainbow, too. Judging from the position of that arch, I'd say the "pot of gold" might be located somewhere in Calumet.

Looks like I'm pretty close on that guess for the location of that "pot of gold," because the second photo is four year old Landen Goulette of Laurium and the big smile on his face is because he just won that bike he's posing with, so he found that pot of riches. How'd he do that you ask? Well, Landen attended the Calumet Theatre Movie Magic Club, which shows a free kids movie Tuesday nights. The movie is followed by a drawing for a free bike for some lucky movie goer like young Landen here, photographed by Joe Kirkish. Thanks for the pictures and the report, Joe and Jamie, too!

Wow...cool bike! How old to you have to be to enter that contest:)

Congratulations to Landen! Doesn't look like he will outgrow that new bike anytime soon! :)

More good pics, especially the rainbow pic.

Seeing that theater crowd reminds me that the Tamburitzans will be here in Calumet (for the 60th year?) on August 15.

Sponsored by the CLK Rotary Club, the proceeds provide funds for many local projects.

If you haven't seen America's premier folk ensemble, you owe it to yourself to attend. I know Charlie will be there and so will I.

Just saw The Marshall Tucker Band at the Calumet Theatre when I was U.P. there last 10 days, great show even though Tommy and Toy Caldwell have passed on.

That's one happy boy! Good for him!

I keep Toy and Tommy Caldwell alive on my vinyl collection. I bought their albums new back in the mid 70's, and they still remain and sound in mint condtion.

Janie, I'd like to buy you a beer, I was wondering if anyone would know what I was talking about!

I know what your talking about also. I like seeing a happy kid after a win of any kind.

Hey U.C.! You buy the beer, and I'll bring Toy & Tommy's music and we'll have our own jam session! I love that Southern Rock music!
