Recently Peg Hardt made a visit to what she calls the Frog Pond and snapped a couple shots to share with us. No matter what she calls this spot, it's a beauty, looking so peaceful with the reflection in the calm waters. By the looks of Peg's second photo taken at the same pond, there might be a beaver or two that have decided that all that calm makes for a good place to build a house. Everything is looking pretty drab and colorless, but before you know it, things will be sprouting green and coming back to life.

Today's last photo belongs to Tom Cook. I just couldn't resist adding it along with the Frog Pond photos, since I'm sure if you visit this spot in the evening hours, you'll hear a number of these little guys singing their froggy songs! :->

A belated Happy Birthday to Mary.
Thanks for all you to to give us Yoopers who have had to move
away a chance to keep in touch with the UP.

Hi
I'd be interested in whether a beaver dam is responsible for the pond...and living space for the frogs.

Great pics! I noticed the frog is not driving. Was his vehicle toad?

Way to go, Alex. You're starting the week up right. Neat pictures.

Good morning, Mary and everyone! It is hard to believe that yesterday I was home in the UP spending time visiting my favorite spots. On Saturday, I stood on the beach of Lake Superior while it was snowing! Isn't Michigan GREAT!!!

re: Kathyrn. I would guess that a beaver might be responsible for the pond. I think I see a few dead trunks and stumps in the water that couldn't have germinated and grown there in standing water. The water level must have risen afterwards. Make sense to anyone else?

That frog looks like he is contemplating his whole life ahead of him. I hope he doesn't croak. (Boooo)
