Wintry photos this morning and I think it's here to stay.

A good title for the 2003 photo is "Pip My Dog!" :)

Mary's dog Pippin lived to be something like 15-16 yrs old if I remember. Life in the U.P. good for the pets also!

Well, it so happens I am color blind and was fast asleep. Your the man jbuck! It would be a hoot if we got snow like Texas has here in Tennessee, but it is all rain.

By Brooke (Lovethekeweenaw) on Thursday, December 11, 2008 - 12:18 pm:

David H, my mom is in TN and would come smack you silly for that comment. It is much nicer to have snow than rain, she is complaining about the rain but doesn't want to drive in the snow. Its snowing sideways in Houghton right now, putting the boots on to head out to lunch.

Snow in Houston yesterday, skiing in New Orleans (well, on the north shore at Mandeville & Slidell, at least) today. It's the coming of the next ice age! (Is Algore still reciting that Global warming mantra?)

Of course he is. The big O is jumping on the band wagon too.

Good afternoon!

The picture from 2000 was awesome and it was no surprise to see that Dan took the picture. The 2007 picture is great too. It's wonderful to see that great bridge again. Just wish I was here under better circumstances.

By David Hiltunen (Davidcorrytontn) on Thursday, December 11, 2008 - 06:36 pm:

Well Brooke, I hope your Mother don't need to get out and drive tonight or in the morning. I was out on 640 and I - 40 to Cedar Bluff on route to Park West Hospital and it was horrible! Thursday has the most truck traffic in this area then any other day of the week, and with the hard rain with the wipers on full, there were many white knuckle drivers out there getting splashed. On the TV news just now some lanes are closed where I was with the road giving way. I did see where a small car ran off into that big pot hole at 4:00 p.m. There were blue lights from Police cars making you get over into the other lanes. Now we have a Winter Storm Watch Warning with snow on the way say's Matt Hinken from WATE TV 6. I said it would be a Hoot, not that I would enjoy it. It is going to get cold and this rain is going to turn to Snow with out a doubt overnight.
