Looking at these pictures from Greg Burk, I'd have to say that the color here in the Keweenaw is at its peak. The colors are vibrant and loud in some cases and in others, they're just sprinkled in amongst the greens. It's definitely one of the more beautiful times of the year and no matter if it's your first time seeing the colors or your umpteenth time, they have a tendency to take your breath away. It's color time... come and enjoy!

Those pictures are awesome! The first picture, with the reflection and the mist, is my favorite. I hope there's some color left next weekend. But if there isn't, we'll still have a great time I'm sure.

Serena....I also love the fall colors, followed by the next color, white!!! And from what I'm hearing a lot of white this year, our snowmobiles will be traveling the trails as well! :)

I feel the same way, Deb. Peak colors or not, it'll still be wonderful
to be UP. Still...hope the colors hold.

Fantastic! Especially since I can't be there.

By Danbury (Danbury) on Friday, October 3, 2008 - 08:03 am:

That's beautiful. Colours are not as far along here in PA, but we hope to see more foliage before we fly home. Good Morning from (currently) State College, PA.

Hi
This picture, and yesterday's, make me long to get up north to our place outside Cheboygan. I used to have an Alaskan Malemute who would sniff the offshore wind like Paco in yesterday's picture. I am not sure we will be able to get up there while the colors are out.

These are amazing today. The colors are the only reason I like fall.

Hey, Danbury, you made it to the good ole USA! Enjoy the rest of your time here, and safe trip home.

By Cindy Pihlaja Russell (Gone2long) on Friday, October 3, 2008 - 09:13 am:

Fall is my most FAVORITE time of year. It's so beautiful and it smells so good and crunches and looks spectacular with its fabulous color show. I can't imagine living anywhere else....until the snow flies. Christmas is just over 11 weeks away. Are you ready?

By Jim Nicholas (Jimn) on Friday, October 3, 2008 - 10:07 am:

HI ALL: WE ARE HAVING A LITTLE COLOR HERE IN THE LOWER MICHIGAN AREA, BUT NO WHERE NEAR THE AMOUNT YOU HAVE IN THE UP. IN GOD WE TRUST.

By Helen Marie Chamberlain (Helen) on Friday, October 3, 2008 - 12:56 pm:

Super photos, Greg. Thank you! The season is too, too short.

By Little M (Littlem) on Friday, October 3, 2008 - 01:59 pm:

beautiful!!! i can't wait to go up there again. it's generally past the peak time once the lake superior pro rally rolls around, but that's the next time i'm coming home, and i'm really excited! :)

By Thomas Baird (Thomas) on Friday, October 3, 2008 - 02:52 pm:

Beautiful, breathtaking. We have have Autumn colours where I
live, but I wouldn't mind being on the Keweenaw Peninsula right
now.

I heard about this on the BBC this morning. Is there anything a pasty can't do?
