Mary Drew at Pasty Central (Mdrew) on Friday, May 30, 2008 - 04:18 am:

I'm declaring this last weekday in May as "Flower Power Day", since my inbox has been bursting with colorful flowers to share with all of you. I'm not sure if Lori Houle dumped these pansies or not, but what a great arrangement for the garden... an old Radio Flyer wagon tipped on its side with the flowers spilling out around it. How's that for a conversation starter?

Then it seems like the next two photographers put their heads together and did a little collaborating to bring us a our own Pasty Cam Tulip Festival. First, Ashley Byykkonen hit the ground for some close-up shots of these brilliant yellow/orange/black tulips, opened so wide that if it weren't for the stamens, I'd have thought it could be a poppy.

And last but not least, the pretty pink tulip photos come from John Anderson who first popped up himself, on the Pasty Cam nine years ago this week. John was one of the early contributors, supplementing the many photos that Jon Hopper provided in the infant years of this daily feature.

Kiitos to our photographers today, for sending us off into the weekend with such a bright display!

I am also enjoying the color, it got so nice and green yesterday! These pictures top it off.

I remember racing around the basement in our red wagon, just like that one.

What a nice surprise to see my picture posted today. Thanks pasty dot net! I have to give credit to my wonderful sister Jeanne for the composition in her flower garden. She loves flowers, butterflies, dirt, birds, rocks and her grandbabies and with all that in mind, she created the opportunity there in her yard, for me to photograph it.

Ah very nice pictures. The purple and yellow flowers? Are they also called viola's or johnny jump ups?

I have a query of all our pasty folks. Last weekend one of our guests here at our B&B mentioned staying in the UP at a rental somewhere in the Keweenaw area a while back. It was built to resemble a caboose. There also were a few cabins nearby but the folks couldn't remember the name of that place. Does this ring any bells with any one? Sure would like it if someone knew where this was and if it's still around. Thanks for any clues you may have for me.

mskatie...I found this, but it's not in the UP, it's in Sparta. http://www.travelwisconsin.com/article_detail.aspx?articleid=41

Yes thanks Cindy. The second site suggested is the one!!!I forgot they said it was at Deer Park! Now if I could only find a few friends to share it with me, I'd feel like I died and went to heaven. Thank you again for the info!
