Merry Christmas, Hauskaa Joulua, Joyeux Noël, Feliz Navidad, Mele Kalikimaka, Buon Natale... however you say it, we wish you a very Blessed and Merry Christmas! Our gift to you is a fun look back at previous Christmas day Pasty Cam photos, starting with one from 2002, shared from the Edith Hopper Post Card Collection, dated originally in 1902. Finnish for Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

The next photo was taken by E. Neil Harri in 2008. He captured the Eagle Harbor Lighthouse beacon reflecting across the ice in the harbor and looking quite a bit like the star of Bethlehem, actually. This one guides freighters and the other one guided Shepherds.

Philip Odum shared the third archive photo back in 2015. The scene depicted on the ornament could have been captured anywhere in the U.P. and is the perfect way to express our holiday wishes to each and every one of our daily visitors.

This is the time of year for children’s Christmas programs both in church and at school. Judy Byykkonen snapped our current photo for today, during her grandchildren’s program at their church services over the weekend. That’s her son portraying one of the Shepherds and keeping his little Grandson “sheep” in line.

Red Jacket Media was at the Lake Linden-Hubbell Elementary Christmas Program last week to record it and shares this clip of music instructor, Jennifer Johnson Fritz directing and accompanying the Rise U.P. Choir perform “Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy”. Quite a challenging undertaking for a young group and they performed it quite well.

Wishing you many blessings and much joy!
