When Judy Byykkonen takes to the woods on her snowshoes, she's never alone, as she has her three trusty, four-legged friends who are always more than willing to accompany her. That's Giselle and Minne in the first photo and Mandydoodle in the second photo. They sure love to be outside frolicking in the snow as Judy walks along. Although, Minnie, the Scottish Terrier has such short legs, Judy said she tires out quickly in the deeper snow and on this excursion, Judy actually ended up carrying her back over her shoulder. OK, so maybe she's a little spoiled, but those little legs of hers have to work much harder than the longer ones of her companions.

I don't know if these three snowshoeing partners notice the beauty around them in the Keweenaw woods, but you can see that Judy sure does. She's snapping photos all along her route, showing us that yes, there are still a few leaves on the trees... after all, it technically is still fall according to the calendar. Those last two photos are of the Traprock River. It hasn't frozen over yet, with the running water it stays open, but there is some thin ice forming along the edges making pretty designs to enjoy.

Does Minnie get snowballs in her skirting? Or do you have her skirting groomed off? All of our Scotties would get snowballs in their skirting, they would make puddles when they melted, if they did not chew them out fast enough.

I usually have Minnie's skirting shaved
off,especially for winter. She gets snowballs anyway

I just love Scotties! I got my first Scotty when a elderly man brought his pup into the clinic where I worked at, for neutering. He was abandoned and so the techs said I needed a pet since I did not have a pet yet. His name was Nabisco. Boy are they strong dogs. But loyal and fun.
