Over on the eastern end of the U.P. near Brimley where Brenda Leigh lives, Lake Superior is dressed in winter attire, too. I love this first shot of hers, with the snow squalls in the air over the Big Lake and the waves, white capped and rolling in.

In the second photo, you can see the Iroquois Lighthouse…well actually it's a tiny replica of the real thing. Brenda said this was taken on the Bay Mills Indian Reservation, about two miles east of the larger version. I wonder if it lights up at night?

Brenda's last two pictures show the ice show they had during the recent storm, too. The icy coating on the trees sparkles just right in the sunlight, making it look like the branches are loaded with diamonds. Beautiful!

Sick of this snow already and it's only November.

Wow ~ great shots!

Just skimmed the pictures at first and thought "the lighthouse looks smaller for some reason...."

Terrific pictures!!!!!

Cold but beautiful photos, Brenda, but I'm in agreement with Grace.....looks to be a long Winter! :(

WOW, WOW, WOW!!!! I LOVE the ice pics! Love them all!

I like the starkness of the first picture. When Gitchi Gumee blue turns into Gitchi Gumee gray the roar of the lake bears testament to the power of the waves.
And Grace, I couldn't agree with you more on your thoughts of winter.

Oh Grace: We only had about an inch, but I also am so sick of it already. Our summer was so brief. I don't think I could cope with what you folks get!

away-I shall miss Lake Superior.
