When Marsha Galbraith spends time at their place near L'Anse, she always has her camera at the ready for picture taking opportunities. Thank goodness she does, because otherwise we'd miss out on seeing the creatures of the North that she comes across in her travels.

What better time to snap a couple shots of our National Bird sitting atop a tree, than the week of the 4th of July. I love the symbolization in this photo, with the Eagle perched up high, like it is watching over our Nation. Nice capture!

Then Marsha and her trusty camera were back on the ground next, coming up behind a deer, which doesn't seem to mind being photographed either. Beautiful greenery in the woods this time of year, too.

One of the bonuses that Marsha gets to enjoy out her window is the setting sun each evening. As if the brilliance of the sky isn't enough, she often gets a sunset visitor on her hummingbird feeder at the same time. Talk about a slice of heaven here on earth, I think she has it right there on the shores of Lake Superior.

I love all the pics, Marsha, especially the first one of the eagle. What a great shot of a magnificent bird! Thanks for sharing them with us.

There is a rather extreme difference in the size range of the birds in today's photos. Not much time for rest for the hummingbird,it has to eat from daylight to dark.

In tune with Nature through the lens of a camera.

It's always fun to get to take a picture of an eagle, but not that hard to do up north! If I'm not the driver and can be looking up, I can probably spot one every day along the eastern shore of Keweenaw Bay or nearby. Hummingbirds are hard to resist, too, out my cottage window in Aura!
