Good morning, everyone.

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Sunday, January 5, 2014 - 10:51 am:

Good morning, Shirley. Good morning everybody else.
Negative 20 here this morning, which will be our
high. Negative 50 wind chills. It's not such a
beautiful day in the neighborhood.

Have a great day!

By Bob Jewell, Farmington Hills (Rjewell) on Sunday, January 5, 2014 - 11:15 am:

Deb
Think what it would been like without global warming.

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Sunday, January 5, 2014 - 04:37 pm:

Believe me, Bob, I've thought about that, lol.
Bring it on!!!!!!

By Janie T. (Bobbysgirl) on Monday, January 6, 2014 - 08:01 am:

Waking up this Monday morning to temps -25, wind chill -60! Al Gore, where's the Global Warming, we need it here!!!

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Monday, January 6, 2014 - 08:31 am:

We've been asking Al that same question, Janie, lol.

We woke up to -23 with wind chills of -50 something.
Yep, I could use some global warming.

Buttttttt, I owe, I owe, it's off to work I go.
Brrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!

Have a great day! Stay inside and stay warm!

By Shirley Waggoner (Shirlohio) on Monday, January 6, 2014 - 09:37 am:

+5F on my backporch this morning, so I can't compete with you all in the temperature contest. But it's cold enough for this old Southern gal.;> Do have sunshine though.:)

By laurh (Keeweewannabee) on Monday, January 6, 2014 - 11:49 am:

Not trying to trump anyone but....I awoke to -27 on the thermometer and -55 windchill this morning. Not bragging...it is not pleasant! Visions of tradewinds and warm beaches dance in my head!

By Tom (Tom) on Monday, January 6, 2014 - 12:32 pm:

I guess it is cold all through the upper midwest.
We had -15F this morning and the thermometer still reads that temperature and it is almost noon. All schools in this area of Wisconsin are closed today and I just talked with my granddaughter and they have already announced closing for tomorrow.
so, I told her, you and your sister get your swim suits and we will go for a swim at the CP Center in a pool with 90F temp. It is a therapy pool we go to
every other day. Lots of us old people go there for
water thereapy. Various aches and pains, etc.
To think I could have been in AZ if I had planned ahead a little!!!

By Nick Karjala (Nmkarjala) on Monday, January 6, 2014 - 01:21 pm:

It is also very cold here in southwest Ohio with the temperature at -5 f. at 1:20 p.m. and windy with drifting snow. I put on my seldom used winter clothing and got a cardiac stress test by shoveling snow for 20 minutes with no problems. (I have no need for meds and rarely have to see a doctor.) Weather forecast is for the temperature to go down to -15 by tomorrow morning.

By Shirley Waggoner (Shirlohio) on Monday, January 6, 2014 - 01:29 pm:

Boy! that pool sounds nice, Tom!
I have some relatives who 'planned ahead' ~ moved from TN to Yuma, AZ in the 1950s. Smart folks, eh?

By Janie T. (Bobbysgirl) on Monday, January 6, 2014 - 01:29 pm:

Here in Eastern Iowa we have hit the bottom, -27. Our temps are starting to climb, temp now at -15. The winds are backing down a bit. My horses have been in the barn since Saturday afternoon, they and their heated water buckets are all doing great. They have hay round the clock. This Arctic freeze is suppose to move east so the weather reporters say. Take care and stay warm to all east of the Mississippi!

By Shirley Waggoner (Shirlohio) on Monday, January 6, 2014 - 01:44 pm:

Have you all heard the new buzz words "polar vortex" ~ appears we're having a 'polar hurricane' which has dropped down from the North Pole. Well then, that explains it.;>

By FRNash/PHX, AZ (Frnash) on Monday, January 6, 2014 - 04:16 pm:

At 3:00 PM (CST) it's still 34°F in New Orleans!, pushing for a high of maybe 39°F.

Meanwhile we're "suffering" with a current temperature of 65°F in Phoenix, AZ at 2:00PM (MST) and shooting for a brief high spike of perhaps 70°F today. Rough duty, isn't it! But someone's got to live here! :-)

By Greta Jones (Urbanescapees) on Monday, January 6, 2014 - 10:17 pm:

Hey FRNash, I'm in AZ too. Nothing but blue skies and sunshine, shirtsleeve & shorts hiking weather!! Gotta love it!

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 - 08:26 am:

Be quiet Greta and FRNash, lol!!
