Today's photos come to us via Nathan Miller, who works for the Keweenaw Land Trust. Nathan informed me that these photos are from the KLT's newest nature area, the Steve Farm Nature Area at Lovell Creek, located just south of Dollar Bay on Point Mills. He set out early one recent morning to explore this new area and set up the lights in the frigid cold. Very festive for the Christmas season.

Nathan also supplied the following information about this new tract of land that is open to the public:

"The Steve Farm Nature Area at Lovell Creek was generously gifted to the Keweenaw Land Trust in the fall of 2013. The 96-acre property was given to us by a local family the John Steve family, with strong ties to the area who wanted to see their land protected from development and be kept available for future Keweenaw explorers. With the KLT's help, they were able to make their wishes a reality. The nature area is open to the public for non-motorized recreation and features beaver dams, sedge meadows, and mixed forests with woodland trails. More info can be found at KeweenawLandTrust.org or by calling (906) 482-0820."
What a wonderfully generous gift that generations to come will be able to enjoy. Thank you Nathan for bringing this to our attention!

Another place to explore. I had never heard of it before. Very
Christmasy pictures.

What a lovely gift. Such a beautiful place for everyone to enjoy.I
think the decorated tree looks so pretty out there in the snow.

This year I was finally going to decorate one in my yard. Planned to do it a 2 weeks ago Saturday.
Unfortunately, I broke a hand 2 weeks ago Friday.
Maybe next year.

Christmas lights in the woods. Great pictures!

Looks like a good idea for Christmas tree farms...trees already decorated with lights. Just take it home and plug it in.

Alex--My husband would sure agree with you. His least favorite
chore of the year is to put up the Christmas lights on the tree. He
absolutely refuses to put them up outside of the house. Once they
are on the tree though, he is happy with all other aspects of the
season--carols, cards, Advent calendars, manger scenes, church
services, presents, dinners and family gatherings.

Merry Christmas to all of you Pasty Cammers and Cammistas.

Such a shame about your hand, Brent, hope it's not too painful and heals quickly.

Hope the 'critters' stay away from the wires in that Christmas tree. I've heard that rabbits are attracted to them ~ like to sharpen their teeth on 'em.:<

I have never heard of that place either. The scene with the lighted tree reminds me of the cartoon "Frosty the Snowman". Can't you just see the animals with their fire trying to keep Karen (is that her name?) warm? So adorable. I love it!

Hard to believe that Christmas is only 4 days away. Having our first celebration with the our son and his famly today. Two of the kids have a different dad and we don't get to spend much time with them usually. So we decided to dedicate a day to just them. They're so excited. Then my son, his wife and daughter will be back on Christmas Day. Oh my, that too sounded like a line from "Frosty the Snowman" :-)

4 days? I better get my cards mailed, thanks for the wakeup call, Deb.

Brent
I know how you feel. I planned on putting the outside decorations and tree up on Thanksgiving weekend. Three days before Thanksgiving I pulled a muscle in my back and spent 4 weeks in bed. Everything is still in the attic.
