I have a small flag that I'll be flying today. We are in the process of moving this week. so our flag pole has been taken down for the time being. Everyone have a safe and good day.

Good morning! Love the 2011 and 2010 pictures!

Big Betsy sure has changed since the last time I drove down there. Will have to take a ride there.

Hope you all have a great day! I get to go in to work late today. Love it after a long ride yesterday.

On flag day ,1984, I got back my old Martin guitar , after having sold it in 1965. Stan Thomson had it in Florida where he worked during the winter. It had a broken back.

so I glued it back together & played it while it was in a cast.
The details arent important but it started me on a hobby of repairing guitars & violns.

Dan, that sounds like a very nice and useful hobby! Glad you have your Martin back!

Good Morning. I would add 2003 to 2000, 2006, and 2009, since there were no driver-less cars yet back in 2003. Ok, so there are none approved yet, but Google is testing them, with drivers in them these days, on America's streets. That's a really scary thought, especially given the data they are now known to be collecting on the streets of the country!!!

Well, this looks like it was a rough night:

COPPER HARBOR -- Parts of the Keweenaw Peninsula are in the dark after a strong storm blew through the area Thursday evening. High winds knocked down trees and caused power outages.

According to UPPCO, Copper Harbor and Mohawk were hardest hit. More than a thousand customers were affected.

UPPCO says extra crews have been called in and will be working throughout the night to restore power. UPPCO says the rugged terrain of the area is making it difficult for utility workers. They hope to have power restored sometime Friday.

Nice slideshow. I especially like the 2001 pic showing the church steeple and Old Glory with the latter waving towards the steeple.

I agree, Thomas. To me those are 2 symbols of the strength of the USA....our churches and our flag!

took a ride down canal road early one morning. There was fog on the canal. Got to where the Houghton camp-ground is and there was Old Glory standing proud in the fog and I snapped a picture. It was not in the fog but, surrounded by fog and a tree, just standing proud.
