Good morning everyone. I get to spend this wonderful day, sitting at the mechanic's today... after hubby 'fixed' my truck this past weekend.

Hello,
Could anyone tell me how much the raffel tickets cost for the quilt benefit for still waters. I have clicked on the link but there is no information as to how much they cost. Thanks, I think time is running out to buy any.

Love the picture of the butterfly on his or hers finger. I was told when I was little, if a butterfly lands on you, if means good luck!!!! Sur5er, don't you know a mechanics vehicle never runs right or is the last to get fixed? I should know... Have a good day. Hold on to your hat or wig today, the wind is already picking up. Can't wait to go Buckey's (Calumet Township Park) later to watch the waves. Heard on the news this morning the waves are going to be huge.

The raffle tickets for the quilt are $1.00 ea.

By Kelly Marshall (Kelly) on Wednesday, September 28, 2005 - 08:55 am:

Cindylee: You will take pictures of those huge waves for us, right? Please?

By Cindy Lee Maki (Cindylee) on Wednesday, September 28, 2005 - 09:20 am:

Kelly, I'll try and get some pictures for you. I want to wish my grandson, P.J. Lammi a HAPPY 4th BIRTHDAY!!!!! Due to unfortunate circumstances beyond MY control, I can't do it in person !!! But anyway P.J., gramma LOVES YOU and thinks about you every day. Good luck when you start going to school in a couple weeks. You must be a big boy now. P.S. Jake says happy b-day too. He's your uncle.

By WishingIWasInDaUP (Sur5er) on Wednesday, September 28, 2005 - 09:49 am:

Happy Birthday to CindyLee's grandson and Jake's nephew, P.J.

Think of how much gas you are saving us all, Cindylee..Instead of ALL of us driving out there to see the magnificent waves ( Don't we all wish we could !)
I heard on CNN that heating costs will be up 71% for most Americans homes which will average $600. We have been asked to curtail unecessary trips in the car. At $3.00 a gallon, I don't imagine many of us are wandering about aimlessly.
But a trip to see waves on Superior? Not that is a necessity. Practically life-support.

By Cindy Lee Maki (Cindylee) on Wednesday, September 28, 2005 - 10:14 am:

Sur5er, I just love ya!!!!! Thanks

By WishingIWasInDaUP (Sur5er) on Wednesday, September 28, 2005 - 10:41 am:

Kelly,
Hubby and I figured that our heating costs will be around $700 a month...because we take a direct hit from those winds off of Lake Michigan. I worry so much about senior citizens and those whose budgets are already stretched.

Cindylee,
What a kind thing to say. I just love ya too, girlfriend. ;)

My admiration is great for quilters. I've seen some goregous quilts. We had a month-long show at the Rockport Art Center in Texas a year ago. Boy, talk about art. Some were way too special to put on an everyday bed. I admire the old-fashioned works like grandma used to make. I tried to help one time at our county center for the ageing. When I gave up, the ladies were sweet. They said that's okay. We'll fix that and they sushed me out of the quilt room! LOL :> Guess I'll stick to drawing and watercolor etc. Good luck with the raffle.

Kelly weather man was WRONG!!!!!! No high winds and no big waves. It's a good thing tho. We don't need no bad weather here. In November is when we usally get the big waves. Guess I can't believe everything I see and hear on t.v. We did have rain today but nothing heavy. Hubby got the house so hot from the wood stove that I'm thinking of going down to the lake and jump in just to cool off. As he would say "wood is good".
