Late last night Charlie emailed me today's colorful biker, which could have driven right out of the catch-all box in my shed. Ritch Branstrom of Rapid River has put together a whole bunch of sculptures like these, which will be on display all month at the Kerredge Gallery in the Copper Country Community Arts Center in Hancock. Charlie and Edie say it is quite an experience to see.

The second artwork is by Mother Nature herself, designer icicles spotted by Tim Bertsos. These babies won't last long, as the edge of the lake is quickly shifting into Spring mode.

By the way, tomorrow is the birthday of the webmaster's wife, Edie Hopper, and her and Charlie are scheduled to spend the day and night on Mackinac Island. Perhaps they'll have some scenes from the Straits area to share when Charlie returns to his webmastering duties on Tuesday.

Good morning from Mishawaka IN. Great pictures this morning. The biker looks just like my ex- on his Harley. Have a great day everyone.

What a fun piece to look at. I don't know much about art, but I can recognize something that obviously took a lot of work and imagination to make. The icicles are a first for me. I've never seen any like this before and I'll bet not too many others have either.

Looks like Mother Nature's collection of wine glasses! What a neat picture. Happy Birthday to Edie, enjoy one of my favorite places, Mackinac Island. A nice day to everyone else. Its supposed to snow later today here.

The picture of the biker is a real hoot! My son enjoyed trying to figure out what it was made from! The icicles are absolutely beautiful! Can't wait to visit the area again this summer!

Love the 'Harley' ;) Looking at the pic and trying to see what I can reckonize. So far I've found forks; a nail scrub brush; bottle cap; the brush from a typewriter eraser; a Christmas ornament; rollers from a patio door screen (we just replaced ours today, so those look a bit too familiar); and a fishing lure.

By Barb in Jacobsville on Saturday, April 2, 2005 - 06:01 pm:

I also love the motorcycle! Could the "headlight" be the little
reflector from inside a flashlight?

By ert, GA on Saturday, April 2, 2005 - 06:18 pm:

Just love both these pictures -- they are intriguing.

sur5er -- I think there's also one of those cheap little knife, teeny scissors, nail file thingys like you get at convenience stores. It usually has some plastic with a saying or advertisement stuck to the outer part, but that's been removed. Very creative!
