Ashlee Harvey, her kids and their dog, spent the day sledding recently. That's a pretty steep hill, but that didn't stop their four-legged friend from running with one of the boys as he braved the sled ride down. The antics of the dog as it runs along with the sledder are quite amusing. It would be neat to put the whole series of shots in a flip book, like we had when we were kids. You know the book I'm talking about, right? You flip through the photos quickly and it looks as though they are suddenly animated. What a joy to see the youngster sliding swiftly down the hill and the dog chasing right alongside. Winter fun in the Keweenaw!

Snow, a good hill, the family dog, sledding in the U.P., life is good for these kids!

What fun that looks like. We couldn't do that here unless we went to the local ski hill where they've been making snow. We still have no snow on the ground and the weather for the week doesn't call for any. Everybody is loving it!! I could really get used to this.

Deb, I am also enjoying the lack of snow here, I'm saving a lot of $ by not buying as much hay for the horses. Still getting a lot of feeding from the snowless pastures.

That and the warmer weather is great for the heating bill:) And the roads are totally safe for holiday travel. Well, that depends on the driver, I guess.

I'll bet it was dog-tired that night.

What great photos of kids having fun in the snow; however, looks like that rock pile could use a tad more of the white stuff!

Ahh, the winter scene we all remember. We would have "capture the hill" contests on our Bob-Sled on all the hills in Hubbell. The scenes of the push and pulls fighting other teams as we travelled down the streets i.e. Cluthiers hill, DesJardin Hill Druins Hill and all the way down to the "main drag". In those days we had no computer, t.v., I pod, I pad, DVD, only had the large Philco radio to listen to as we warmed up at home over the large register that would provide heat for the whole house.

Eddyfitz, I remember 'those days'. Isn't it a shame that we've lost our innocence.

EddyFitz, Those were the days !!!! i wonder if we
were
there on any of those hills at the same time.

I remember sliding down the hill where the old
brown Hubbell/Tamerack school use to be on my
silver saucer. Fun times.

Wow the memories. The winter nights with full moon.It was almost like day light. All the neighborhood kids would meet at the rock pile after supper. With tobbogans, sleds, flying saucers, step-in skis, and anything else we could make go downhill in the snow. Temperature didn't matter. Ahh, to relive this one more time.
