That's quite the photo, snapped by Aladino Mandoli. It's like he stopped this duck in mid-flight, amongst the deadened remains of trees and the changing fall foliage a little deeper into the background. Amazing, indeed, as you can almost see those wings fluttering.

The second two shots are Dino, experimenting with different color settings. I'm not certain if that is the same duck, but he again stopped it in mid-air, but colorized it with a sepia setting. Interesting, as it's not quite black and white, but has a brownish tint to it.

That third picture was snapped in Al Quaal park, which is a 300 acre park overlooking Teal Lake in the Ishpeming area (we were just there with yesterday's photos, too). Dino says this photo is a "converted (quasi-infrared) shot". Again, quite an interesting take on the usual color or black and white.

Thanks, Dino, for all of your contributions to the Pasty Cam over the years. We are heading down the homestretch completing 14 years of this daily format that comes to you from Michigan’s beautiful Upper Peninsula.

Interesting photos...next UP, 3-D glasses maybe?

Love the different colors in these shots. I love it when people change their colored photos to make them sepia. Not quite as fond of the black and white. And the way he captured that duck is amazing!!

Thanks for the great pictures!

That last one reminds me of some of the shots in The Wizard of Oz. Very cool!

We just came back from the UP. We had a wet but wonderful week.
Color around Twin Lakes was great. Bright patches everywhere we
went.

Great camera work, Aladino! The sun reflecting off the duck's right wing makes it appear that he has a 'crown', or sunbeams rising from his head. All super shots!
