Robert Halonen takes us to the mile long beach within Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, called Miner's Beach. Sure looks like a great spot to enjoy Lake Superior, and if you look closely, you can see one of the tour boats gliding by. Robert also treats us to a couple photos along the Miner's Beach trail, which has some great views of Lake Superior along the way. I'm not sure where these trails lead, but taking a wild guess, I'd say perhaps to Miner's Castle? I'm going to rely on someone who's been there before, to confirm or deny my speculation.

If you're looking to find this beautiful beach and the trails, too, here are some directions, taken from the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore webpage: Located about 6.5 miles east of Munising on Alger County Road H-58, then six miles north on Miners Castle Road. Happy trails to all you adventurers who head that way!

Very scenic.

IN the first pic the view in front of you is Grand Island. If you were to walk to the left of the first pic the trail would lead up a big bluff and eventually to Miners Castle (about a 1.5 mile walk along Miner's River). To the right (second pic), the trail leads to the east end of Miner's beach (my personal fave) and up a bluff to Potato Patch campsites. Keep hiking about 40 miles and you'll be in Grand Marais! The bottom pic is just the trail coming down from the parking lot.

That first picture is so simple, but so perfect!

What a beautiful state is Michigan. There other beautiful states in the good ol' USA, but none being fortunate to be surrounded by three Great Lakes!
