When Rob Wetton sent me these photos, he explained that they were taking care of their "Grandogs," while their daughter and son-in-law were out of town. That's really not as easy as it sounds, since they have three dogs of their own, so add these two rambunctious pups in the mix and there are plenty of doggie antics. Rob also said that Taylor, the black lab, usually doesn't get too feisty, but for some reason, on this particular day, decided to have some fun with her sister Trixie. My favorites are the first one, for obvious reasons and the third one, because it looks like Taylor is looking to "high-five" Trixie. Lucky dogs to be living in the U.P. and to have doggie Grandparents like Rob and his wife.

What beautiful dogs!!! I was never a dog lover until we got our latest dog. She is the best dog ever, other than she's a coward, lol. She even loves the cats!! Don't think I'll ever get another one because this one has us spoiled!

Great pictures!

Beautiful grand puppies! Chocolate and dark chocolate in flavor/color.

What a fantastic picture that first one is...I love it!

4 footed, furry grandkids...way to go!

The first photo is a hoot (excuse me, a howl)! They look like two buddies sitting at the bar and singing: "You picked a fine time to leave me Lucille."

These pictures are why I go to work as a veterinarian every day not expecting anything but seeing the antics , love , working dogs (herding and special needs dogs) and I can get to hug every one of them, calm their fears and heal them from their maladies. My Episcopal priest at Trinity in Houghton said to me that He heard I wanted to be a veterinarian. I said yes Fr. Bill. and he replied "do you really want to squeeze anal glands the rest of your life? I replied "if that is what it takes then thats what is I will do. But now I do stem cell transplants, Total hip replacements. elbow replacements, arthroscopy, etc and often the owner will ask if I emptied the anal glands? So he was right!

Their coats shine. I'm gonna guess they like vegetables. Bart our dachshund liked vegetables. He especially liked carrots. Green beans were a hot number too. His coat shined like these two. Almost like it was polished

lol Alex! Your lyrics reminded me of an older memory. Years ago a friend lost a wheel off his truck, and he sang it this way, "You picked a fine time to leave me Loose Wheel".

By JoAnne Stefanac (Davejostef) on Saturday, July 23, 2011 - 10:05 am:

Gorgeous dogs! Look at those coats! Would love to know what's in their diet to make them glow like that. Amazing.

I love these pics, too, especially the first one. We just got home from a four day trip with our black lab to our friend's cabin in the middle Lower Peninsula. He had a ball! Labs are just so playful!

With those shiny coats they look like seals.

By Alex "UP-Goldwinger" (Alex) on Saturday, July 23, 2011 - 01:06 pm:

Good one, JT.

By laurh (Keeweewannabee) on Saturday, July 23, 2011 - 01:26 pm:

I want to weigh in on the shiny dogs ~ it's the UP! When I'm there with my lab her coat looks polished and actually takes on a different texture from how it is at home. Extremely clean, shiny and soft. I credit the UP air and that Big Lake water! It is the best! And dogs are just happier there.........

I know it's already been said, but....Beautiful doggies!

It's not veggies that they like.......it's hard boiled eggs. They get one every day!!

Always enjoy pictures of man's best friend. There's no match for the love and affection of a dog.
