The lady who researches our Pasty Central Day in History (my wife Edie) fondly recalls her Dad in younger days, and then a little older. Joining in the last photo was our future Pasty Girl, Becky, along with Mom and Grandpa. His love for the Northwoods has landed Jerry Cobb on these pages before, and Edie and I send another Happy Father's Day to him and all the Dad's who occasionally stop by Pasty Central.

Our long-awaited Cameo honoring the fathers of Pasty Cam visitors, will be along later this afternoon, thanks to some last minute emails and technical complications.

And as a dad myself, let me send my kids a favorite memory from a few decades ago... Remember when I'd get home from work and we would play "Daddy Gym Set" ? Our living room was the playground, and I was the monkey bars, back in the day when I had some serious hair.
Daddy Gym Set
Thanks to all who sent in photos and memories of their fathers. I'll post a note later today after we upload the Pasty Cameo "Tribute to Dad".

Have a good week :o)

From Ren Unity today:

Sunday, June 19, 2011 – Father’s Day

"You've got to do your own growing, no matter how tall your grandfather was."
~Irish Proverb

Today's Affirmation

I live in Love and Love lives in me.
Today's Meditation

Loving Spirit,

As we celebrate Father’s Day today, we remember that we all contain masculine and feminine energy and both flow from the One.
We are grateful for those who have lovingly demonstrated the divine masculine through their love, care, devotion and strength.
For many of us, Dad was the primary channel for this love and presence; But there are others as well: Uncles, Grandpas, Teachers, Pastors, Coaches and often Mothers who are open and available to help us learn and grow.
If the relationship we had with Dad was less than perfect, may this year present new opportunities for wholeness.
We know that You are the source of our strength and work through every available channel to make sure we receive all the love and lessons we require.
Pour Your wisdom and love out in all who are living in the role of father, so that each child might know Father’s love.
Thank You!
Amen

Father's Day is always bittersweet!

So many fond memories of the best Dad in the whole world, who left us way too early. Until we meet again at that glad reunion day ~ you are always in our hearts and in our thoughts!

Father's Day is also observed in the Dominion of Canada, so Happy Father's Day to all Canadian Fathers.

jbuck, I agree with you about this being a 'bittersweet' Father's Day....my husband, the wonderful Dad of our two children, passed away from us on May 7th. (we would have celebrated our 57th anniversary on June 5th) Thankfully we do have lots of precious memories to strengthen us and help us through this very sad time. Hope all you dear dads in 'pastyland' had a wonderful day with your families!

Shirlohio ~

May our Lord comfort your heart and grant you His peace on this Father's Day and in the days to come.

Take care of yourself ~

Oops, I forgot to mention, we uploaded the Fathers Day Pasty Cameo earlier. We were too busy enjoying Father's Day ourselves. Thanks to all who sent pictures of their dads.

Shirley so sorry to hear of your loss. 57 years is a long time together. My 54th just passed recently. It's hard to think of when you were not together. I hope most of those years were good with fond memoeries.

Shirley, Sorry to hear of your husband of many years passing. The 1st Christmas, birthday, anniversary, Father' day, etc are always the hardest. But he hasn't left you, he's with you in spirit always. Just keep that in mind always.

jbuck, Kay and Cheryl, thank you for your kind remarks. Our Heavenly Father takes my hand and leads me through the days.

What a wonderful Father's Day Cameo. Thanks, Charlie. I have
some great pictures of my father, but sadly they're mostly in the
States, so I wasn't able to send them. Maybe next year I'll have my
act together.

My condolences, Shirley. I know how hard these first anniversaries
of different events are. The memories may be bittersweet, but how
lucky we are to have those memories, and your remark shows that
you know it.
