On a recent trip to the U.P., Steve Haagen spotted a multitude of wildlife and was able to get off a few pictures of a few of them. He said these eagle shots were taken in the Bruce Crossing area and not more than a half mile away from that first shot with the four eagles, he estimates there were at least 75 deer in a field. Total count for the trip north, was 13 eagles and well over 100 deer. Not sure why, but Steve said it seemed to be a great day to see wildlife.

Eagles can be seen feeding on the ground especially on hog farms after manure spreaders have gone over. There is more than manure in the spreaders.

Janie I "lost" my responce to your email yesterday about the Sabula-Savanna bridge. Yep that was closed due to the causeway flooding. Our mail carrier lives over there and has to travel 40 miles thru Clinton to get to work. And it's getting worse each day of rain and up north thawing.

If any of you love watching eagles check out the Raptor Resource Project of a very active nest near Decorah Iowa. It's exciting to see the female feeding the 3 eaglelets. Both parents are there often. I could watch it by the hour. You can see how they are growing. Check it out!Sunday she and the nest were coverd with snow.

TO KAY; That is a fantastic site to watch the eagles raise thier young. When they are first born or is it hatched, we call them bobbleheads. I like the night-cam, too. Sometimes when I can not sleep I will watch it for awhile. A couple of days ago I turned it on and both mom and dad were on the nest covering the eaglets. The one adult eagle had its head nestled under the other adult. Then the one adult started to arrange stuff in the nest, when the other tried to move it back, a little 'pecking' went on. (LOL.) After awhile that one flew out of the nest.

I agree with Richard, I see a fifth eagle in pic 1, low to the ground on the snow in front of the one near the right edge of the picture.

Yes there was 5 in the field, and one flew into the pine tree at the edge of the field. There was also two adults sitting across the road in a tree that are in my gallery, for a total of 8. Dinner was down in the ditch so I think that is what drew the crowd. Yes the heart was pounding when we came upon that seen, I was riding shotgun so it was Lindsay's Eagle eyes that spotted all the excitement going on in that field. Along with this site we spotted 5 other eagles that day including two young, maybe year olds? Big birds but they did not have there white heads and tails yet. I wish we would have stopped to catch a picture just up the road with the est 75 deer in it. I have to say that was the most deer I have ever seen in one field along with the biggest group of eagles I have ever seen together. That is short of driving over to the Mississippi during the winter when you can see hundreds of them in the trees.
