It was a nice surprise when I found this photo of the Greenstone Trail at Swedetown in my Inbox. Elizabeth Siivola is our skiing reporter today, letting us all know that with the recent snowfall last weekend, especially on the Calumet end, the trails at Swedetown are still looking pretty good for some late season skiing. From the date on the photo, you can see that Elizabeth took it on Tuesday and we've had some warmer temperatures the last few days, so if you're looking to ski once more before spring finally arrives, you better grab your gear and head there right away. If you have to travel any distance to get there, it might not be a bad idea to call ahead and check on the current conditions, first. You can call the Swedetown Chalet at: (906) 337-1170. Enjoy the last of the skiing!

Hoping that snowy look will soon by gone UP there! Have a feeling Lake Superior is really gonna be cold this year. It was so very nice and warm last year. Well, as warm as it's gonna get, anyway!

Are there any webcams at Swedetown? It would be neat to see it up-to-the-minute.

Where's Spring? (lol)

Well, Thomas, it's down here in the Ohio Valley. Have already had some 70s temps, and lotsa rain, which we can do without for a while. "Too wet to plow". :}

While we're dealing with wildfires because of the warm, dry, windy conditions here in the foothills of Colorado.

Nice photo. Shirley, the fields here in mid-Michigan are still too wet to plow. The river downtown was out of its banks, flooding the parks in the flood plain, too.

Marianne, sounds like you're too close to Ohio.;) Terrible t-storms here today....again! Gary W., Colorado sounds good to me....without the wildfires of course.

I have been putting my VHS tapes onto DVD's, and I came across a movie that is dated April 10, 2003 or 2004, and it was snowing like crazy. We left from Lake Linden and was heading home downstate.

It was actually pretty to watch.

About 0330 this A.M. we had a bit of lightning but no thunder to speak of and at 0500 the sky opened up to a goodly shower. I'm thinking that trail is a bit mushey right now, especially with the temp in the 50's yesterday. We did see 6 snowmobiles yesterday paralleling M-26 just west of Toivola. They looked to be riding on about 4 feet of packed snow for the most part - and enjoying themselves. We've had an easy winter so far. Looks like the snow thermometer is down for a paint job - the framework was empty yesterday on the way home.
