Yes, that's right, this is Spring in the Keweenaw. What a difference a day makes. This was the scene in Calumet on Monday, after we were pelted with Spring for 24 hours. Dottie Abe snapped the first two shots, showing the way it was during the deluge of winter's return. That sure is some heavy snow weighing those pine branches down and although it does make for a beautiful photo, it's more appealing in December or January...and I think I speak for most Yoopers on that one. ;->

The bottom two photos, come to us from Bill Haller and give you a glimpse of his visitors in a 72 hour period of time elapsed. Bill wrote:

"Up to eight "girls" returned from their winter bedding grounds on Friday, only to be forced to eat pine needles by Monday. Weather reports say five inches of snow, but we have more like nine. Back to the feed store this morning ..."
It's fun to watch critters come around and figure out how to finagle seeds out of feeders that were meant for the birds. The deer simply tip it until some falls on the ground or they lick at the openings and get a few seeds at a time on their tongue. Poor things have a hard time finding dinner, especially with the fresh snow covering. After all, you can only eat so many pine boughs..."twas a long winter in the Copper Country.

Ouch! Expecting a high of 65 today here.

Hi
This puts things in perspective. My mom lamented yesterday during a phone call that she saw a few flakes of snow fall in Jackson (nothing stuck). Here in SE Michigan, today, it's raining. A cold rain, but not snow cover.

Ouch is right Janie! We have a windchill here in Tampa this morning and expecting a high of 79. Have a nice 'Hump Day'.

I just like this and wanted to share:

To find the universal elements enough; to find the air and the water exhilarating; to be refreshed by a morning walk or an evening saunter; to be thrilled by the stars at night; to be elated over a bird's nest or a wildflower in spring - these are some of the rewards of the simple life.

Supposed to be in the mid to high 50's today and the rest of the week. Then we're supposed to hit 60's by the weekend. Loving it! Glad Easter's so late this year.

Hi
Donna, I like your quote. Those simple things are also a comfort in times of stress & trouble.

Good Winter weather photos, anytime of the year.
