When I received the following message from Donna MacIntosh, I fully expected to find pictures of little kids playing in the snow:

"I just uploaded some pictures of my new neighbor "kids", Amber and Bella... I was out trying to get pictures one sunny Sunday morn, and these two were running all around and just playing together...and it was so cute to watch. They would take turns breaking off sticks....show the other one, who would start to chase to get the stick from whoever plucked if off!"

But much to my surprise, when I checked out her Pasty Guest Gallery Photo Album, I found that she was talking about her neighbor's four-legged "kids." They sure were enjoying the morning sunshine and fluffy snow. Looking at the exuberance captured in the last two photos especially, you can't help but smile.

Dogs are such wonderful friends! These two will be in for a serious nap when they come in. With 14 in. of new snow and before we made snowmobile paths, our Scotties are getting a real workout....their legs are only 4 1/2 in. long.

Remember to cheer for Grand Marais and their breakwall!!! Only a few days left.

Hi
When I retire, I'll get a couple of big dogs & we'll all go out & play in the snow (I'll be the one on skiis).

Incidentally, we did not get the 12 inches or better of snow the weather people predicted down here in Ann Arbor. By the time it tapered off yesterday, we had around 8.5 inches. Probably a standard amount for yoopers.

I love watching dogs play in the snow. We call our black lab "Prancer" when he goes out after a new snowfall. He sort of hops and dances all in one. Oh, to be as carefree as a dog . . . Great pics!

I don't know Janie, you may have to enter the Pepsi Challenge just to get those Scotties some snowshoes.

I'm not sure what our Basenji thinks of snow. He has seen snow before in Switzerland, but he would get a rude surprise in the Keweenaw I'm betting. I know there hasn't been any arguements getting him in while it's been chilly outside....

Capt Paul, those Scottie boys of mine would ride the snowmobiles before using snowshoes! They have such a "I can do that, no big deal" attitude! lol!

Those dogs are certainly having a good time.

You can't buy loyalty, they say
I bought it though, the other day;
You can't buy friendship, tried and true,
Well just the same, I bought that too.
I made my bid, and on the spot
Bought love and faith and a whole job lot
Of happiness, so all in all
The purchase price was pretty small.
I bought a single trusting heart,
That gave devotion from the start.
If you think these things are not
for sale, Buy a brown-eyed puppy with
a stump for a tail.

Hollidays, great poem. Sure makes me miss my lab I had for 15 years . . . .

Still can't believe this site isn't on Facebook.

I loved watching these two...they had the most fun....And no kidding Cindy..."to be as carefree as a dog".....

The other night, a couple of friends of mine were over, and one of the dogs scratched at the door...one of the gals asked "What was that?" I told her "Neighbor kids want a treat"...and I grabbed a couple of biscuits and opened the door...they are so cute, and really well behaved!
