Victoria......since I'm new at this, I wondered how I go about creating a photo gallery and uploading pictures. Any one have a minute to fill me in? Thanx

Mary says: I can help you with that Marggie...I'm sending you an email with an attached tutorial to get you started. I see you've already registered over at the gallery, so this should help get you started. Check your email, as sometimes emails from me get "caught" in folks spam filters. :->

Good morning! Where is Maple Grove in Michigan?

By Dale Beitz (Dbeitz) on Wednesday, July 28, 2010 - 09:05 am:

Google maps shows Maple Grove is a little southeast of the US41/94 intersection, which itself is a couple miles east of KI Sawyer Air Force Base. Or another way to say it is some number of miles southeast of Marquette.

One of these days when I have the time, I would like to begin taking photos and start a gallery. However, that day just does not seem to get here soon enough :(

Hi Deb!
If you're referring to the Maple Grove Town Hall shown in today's Decade in Review slide show (2006), it's on US-45, between 'Ruces 'Rossing and Paulding. (In spite of the name, It's actually the town hall for Haight Township!)

See the original (2006) discussion here.

In 'proper' Yooperese dat's prob'ly 'Rout 'Rick , and it's located about 'leven miles east o' 'Ruces 'Rossing, on M-28! {smile}

When my folks lived in White Pine they talked about going to Ont'nogon but were corrected by a few people.

By Cindy Pihlaja Russell (Gone2long) on Thursday, July 29, 2010 - 09:27 pm:

We folks from that neck of the woods do call it Ot-noggin. That way you can always tell when someone is from outta town when they pronounce all the letters. I graduated from Ot-noggin in '76. I recall that we played football and basketball with Bezmer. We also played Trout Crick and we called 'Ruces 'Rossing just plain Bruces. And when you mention Ewen, the usual response was "Ewen who else?"
