The Early Bird definitely gets the worm.

Good Morning, you all! Congratulations, on your Early Bird, Charlotte!

They are saying that this could be a gorgeous autumn, something we all can enjoy! It's time to start tasting the bounty of the season: apple pies & cobblers, pumpkin pies, stews, soups, among other things, sound yummy to me. What are some of your Fall Harvest favorites? And, with the storms today, complete with High Wind Advisories, rain, & cool temps, this might be a great day to start! I'm buried in paperwork for the next couple of days, so we will have to wait until that is done to start, sigh. :-)

Good morning!

While in the UP, my hubby picked 4 bags of apples. He was pretty excited about that until he got them home and they became so much work, lol. But we've had apple cake, apple pies, apple crisp and he's made apple butter. He went to buy an apple peeler because he got tired of peeling apples, lol. We also have a good recipe for baked apples.

I love fall, I just wish winter didn't follow so closely behind.

Have a great day and way to go, Charlotte!

Of course my favorite is the kitties! Can't wait 'til I get my own! Batten the hatches and your ballcaps, folks, it's gonna be a windy day! The river will have whitecaps today! Or "white horses" as they say in Ireland.

I share you 'favorites', Kay! We're also having a little 'blow' down here in the Ohio Valley, but alas, no pretty Great Lake 'white horses' to observe! :(

My husband and I are headed up to the Copper County tomorrow, for a week. I am looking forward to the fall colors. The aspens here in Colorado peaked this past weekend so we get to enjoy 2 color seasons. Can't wait to drive into Eagle Harbor.

Thanks Deb and Marianne for the congrats on being the Early Bird. I had a bad night as far as sleeping goes so I had been up since 2:00 am. Not long after making the Early Bird I was back in bed for a couple of hours sleep. The change in the weather didn't do me any favors. I would love to be at Lake Superior today watching the waves.

With Charlie's permission I'd like to let you know that we are having a french toast pancake benefit along with a bake sale & raffle this Sunday,October 4th from 7:00AM to 1:00PM at the Lake Linden Elementary School cafeteria for my 9 year old grandson Logan Muljo. Tickets for the breakfast are $5.00 for adults, $3.00 for children 6-12 years old & kids under 5 are free. Logan has just had bone graft surgery on his neck last month & is wearing a halo for 3 months. He will need additional surgeries to correct his scoliosis problems in the near future. The proceeds of this benefit will go towards the medical & transportation costs his family will be enduring. We know how special the UP is & we're looking forward to seeing many of you. We'd appreciate your support. Thank you.

Cheryl...is there an address to send a "mail in" donation? Living 13 hrs. from Lake Linden, we can't make the trip, but Logan is really an inspiration, I would like to help him out. *Janie

Yes...an address for Logun would work out better for me too, since I live in SE lower Michigan
