Some towns put flashing lights on their stop signs to make them more visible, but not the folks in L'Anse, they surround theirs with barrels of flowers. Marsha Galbraith snapped this photo and remarked that someone very committed planted the flowers and is maintaining them so they continue to grow. Nice job!

Speaking of growing, Marsha also spotted a doe and her fawns while in the Aura area. She said when she stopped to snap a few pictures, more and more deer kept coming out of the woods. Perhaps there's something yummy that deer are attracted to, growing on that hillside. Whatever it is, I'm glad it attracted this little family so they could be captured in Marsha's lens.

Love the small town stop sign.
at "My" park here on Lake Erie we have a doe and 3 fawns. Is this a unusual birth or is she just a surgate mom to one of them.

RE: yesterday's Cam Notes about mushrooms...found a grand article in the new "Lake Superior" magazine I received yesterday. About mushrooms in the Porkies. Good read.

We had a doe w/ triplets in our yard and area last year (here in GA). It's not common for them to have triplets, but sometimes it happens. Just what we need is more deer but they surely were pretty.

Can't wait until winter comes so mine will return to our yard for food.

I saw a deer and two turkeys today. Had to give way for one of the turkeys in the street. All the criters were in the city limits in residential areas. They all hide out in the woods surrounding the Dow Chemical headquarters. Who would think they'd call the city "home."
