Has anyone else heard about President Obama using the word Yooper while in Green Bay?

I'm really hoping to find an audio or video track of it to use so I can post it to Yooper Steez.

Send me a note if you've seen any news stations or anything that have covered it! Appreciate it, thanks.

Bugsy, don't really know about Obama using the Yooper word but do know that Bush constantly said, "EH?"

Yooper power
By Alan J. Borsuk of the Journal Sentinel
Jun. 11, 2009

One more sidelight from Thursday's town hall meeting with President President Obama in Green Bay:

Obama may need a little more education in the culture of our region, depsite his years in Chicago.

Near the end of the session, the president called on someone who said he wa Matt Stein and he was a teacher in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

"Yooper," someone called out. "Yooper power," another voice called.

"Is that what you call yourself, Yoopers?" Obama asked.

Stein answered yes.

"OK, that's cool. All right," Obama replied.

"Proudly, we call ourselves Yoopers," Stein said.

He asked a question about education, drawing a lengthy response from Obama. The exchange is near the end of the White House transcript of the event.
