One of the busiest links on this website is "Order Now" on the bottom of each page. How many pasty shipping days remain in March?

Looks as if the picture of the house means it will be torn down. So sad. I bet that old place has alot of storys yet to tell.
Have a great day everyone.

I belive the house was being moved. It could be the house that the owners of the Laurium Manor Inn bought, renovated, and moved to a next-door site to be their home. They added a porch, but otherwise the house looks the same. I could be wrong.

Fine pics, as usual.

My boyfriends dad lived in Swedetown til the age of eight and then the family moved to Detroit for work. He was surprised to find the house they, (his dad) lived in and that it was still in good shape and someone was living in it. As he was looking around I took some pictures.

We are so fortunate to have such wonderful photos from so many pasty cammers....... but there's just something so unique in Dan Urbanski's visions that we are able to enjoy even now after these years since his light dimmed! Thank you Dan for sharing. And the pasty site for presenting them to us! The 2001 image for example!

By Cindy Pihlaja Russell (Gone2long) on Sunday, March 22, 2009 - 04:44 pm:

I expect some of you will remember these people. My Aunt (Helmi) Vi (Luttinen) Pihlaja and my Uncle Ed Saaranen have both just died. Vi died last week and Ed died today. Vi lived in Mass City from 1923 to 1942. She married my dad's brother Arvo Pihlaja and they moved to the Detroit area, where she lived the remainder of their lives. She had been suffering from Alzheimer's for a number of years. Now she has joined Arvo in Heaven. Arvo died in 2006. My Uncle Ed was the brother of Frank Saaranen who was the barber in Mass City forever and ever. Ed was married to my dad's sister Tiame. They lived in Warren. He was 96. It's been a sad week for my family.

Cindy, I'm so sorry for your losses. I know how you feel and there are no words that will comfort you. I still am not in great shape after everything that's been thrown at me. They say time heals all wounds. Hopefully, it'll happen for us. You have my deepest sympathy.

Love 2008's picture. I'm betting there's more ice than that this year.

Condolences to you and your family, Cindy. Never easy to say 'goodbye' to anyone, especially loved ones. May God ease your sorrow!

It's been a hard time for you, Cindy. Please accept my

Your mention of Mass City reminded me that I had a gym teacher
back in elementary school who came from there. Like my family,
she had migrated to Detroit in search of work. Her name was Miss
Kidd. (I have no idea what her first name was as I never heard
anyone call her anything but Miss Kidd) Did anyone on Pasty Cam
know her?
