Nice selection of photos.

Gee, I guess I did too much "night owl" duty last night, 'cuz here 'tis 10:50AM (MST, in Phoenix, AZ) and I'm still on my first cuppa kahvi, and I haven't a clue where we were supposed to find out "How many Englishmen walked across Lake Superior in February 1872?"

I did find it at Past-E-Mail: Cam Notes - 2008: March: Mar 22-08, which in turn refers to February 20[, 2008] "Day in History", from which today's Decade of the Pasty Cam on this day was evidently cloned. Now is that an obscure "treasure hunt", or is it just me?

A good and speedy sleuthin' award to Helen in the U. P.! (Lahelo)!

FRNash -
Or "This day In History"

jbuck:
"Or "This day In History""

Not a precise quote, but I used the same term as in the initial entry in Past-E-Mail: Cam Notes - 2008: March: Mar 22-08},

One of my favorite Internet stops is George Hite's Eagle Harbor Web, to catch up on the news of our neighbors 8 miles to the north (or is it east?). Earlier this week George posted this awesome entire view of Lake Superior as seen by the NOAA eye in the sky. As you can see, our coast line is still socked with ice in many places. But the Lake didn't come close to freezing over, as we reported last month how it did in February 1872. That's when a party of 20 Englishmen walked across Lake Superior from the Thunder Bay side, with a stopover at Isle Royale, as noted in Karl Bonak's book, "So Cold a Sky", which we mentioned on the February 20th "Day in History".

Great pics, especially the balancing act by the ice on the rock.

FRNash, jbuck meant you could have just listened to today's "This Day in History."

Martha Kirk (Misschiefie):
"… you could have just listened to today's| "This Day in History."

Thanks, Martha (and jbuck)!

I guess I finally found a small disadvantage to habitually starting my daily visit on the New Messages page instead of at the Pasty Cam page! (There wasn't a clue in today's activity about a new "Day in History", while historically there has been, no?)

Oh Well!!! Isn't life great. ;O))

I just managed to get on Pasty Cam for the first time today, and
already I feel better. Joe Kirkish was right..when you're feeling a
panic attack coming on (he uses a different term, I never noticed
that feature before), just check out Pasty Cam, Day in History, the
Decade in Review, and if you need more than that, put a pasty in
the oven. I just did that. I know that the world will be a better
place in less than an hour. Thank you, Pasty Cam!

Yes, TGIF! Thank God I'm Finnish! Unless you are of a certain ethnic football team whose shoes have TGIF written on them. "Toes Go In First." Oh well, sorry. :o)

TO Ken ja Mimi from da UP;

What do you mean 'certain ethnic football team'?
