This is Mandy, the Labradoodle, who loves the outdoors and especially plowing through the fluffy snow with her head down like she's looking for who knows what. That's what gives her the "beard" effect, when the snow accumulates on her furry snout. Judy Byykkonen says she's quite the dog, full of energy and spunky, too.

The other two dogs in the third photo belong to the Byykkonen household, also. They're Yorkie Poodles, who aren't so impressed with Mandy Dog and her snowgopher activities. It almost looks like Jewel and Pumpkin are bored with her antics and may be thinking she's a silly dog to get covered in miniature snowballs.

Love these cute doggies!! My two love the snow as well. My little cocker loves to roll around in it and make snow dog angels.

Very cute! Our dog is like that in the winter too. She's loving the snow we're getting this year. I'm not thinking she's going to like going out to do her business today, though. It's not going to get above zero. The wind chills are going to be awful. Hope everybody who gets to, stays indoors.

My Scottish Terriers, Brimley and Brody are loving our very snowy winter this year! We don't dare to ride off on the snowmobiles without giving them a ride first!

Hi
Mice & other small rodents make tunnels under the snow; maybe Mandy is looking for them. Our Alaskan Malamute, Misty, loved the snow and would do the same "snoot into the snow" stunt. She didn't mind the cold at all.

The two smaller dogs are probably wise to be wary; it looks like the snow is over their heads.

Roger...this is where the cats' intelligence shows why they are just a wee bit smarter than dogs! :O) But, boy, dogs sure have a heck of a lot more fun don't you think?! Love that video of the dog just exploding with happiness in the snow. Can just about hear him shouting WHEEEEEEEEEE!

By Capt. Paul (Eclogite) on Tuesday, January 13, 2009 - 11:05 am:

Not sure about that Kay; we have a cat that we can't keep out of the shower in the morning. This is also the same cat that drowns all his cat toys in the water dish........

Did anyone see on the news where the Obama family is considering getting a Labradoodle as they make plans to move to the White House? I think a Labradoodle would make a great "first dog".

Jaby...it was annouced on last nite's news the Obama's are getting a male 13 week old Portugese Water Dog puppy. Awesome dogs!
