One of the better vantage points for viewing the colors of the season, is up on top of a mountain. Of course you know there are several in the Keweenaw, but today we travel to the top of Mount Bohemia, which when covered by snow is home to one of the Midwest's premiere "expert" ski resorts. Brooke Gubacz snapped the first two shots from up on top Bohemia, the first one looking toward Lac La Belle. For a point of reference, the red arrow is pointing to the area where the Lac La Belle Lodge and Beer Belly Bar and Grill is located. Brooke's second photo is looking out over the vast sea of colored trees, which looks like it goes on forever.

I dug in Joyce Tormala's gallery album to find today's last photo, so you could feel like you were actually right there on the chair lift at Bohemia. Hang on, we're on our way down after taking in the top two views!

Great photos...are there still some good colors left in the UP? I'm thinking about heading up this weekend since the October 15th tax return deadline will be over.

I'd love to ride that ski lift at this time of year, but would have no desire to break every bone in my body on the way down during the winter months.

Great pic of Lac La Belle! and no Marty, we're not 4 wheelin up the face of Mt. Bohemia next month! You can take the truck and try it, I'll stay at the bottom and notify EMS and the tow truck, lol!

We have ridden the chairlift at Mt. Bohemia to catch the fall colors...fantastic ride and a picnic table at the top for those who care to bring along a snack so they can leisurely enjoy the breathtaking view! I highly recommend this. Again, super pics! clap, clap

Awesome picture of Lac LaBelle! I miss it so much. I want to be there right now! I wish I could take the ride up Mt Bohemia. I could never ski down it! What a great way to see the color.

Well there's something else to add to my list for next year's trip. At least I'll give it a thought, not sure if I have the sisu to really travel that lift tho! The view must be outstanding!

Remember when the fire tower was up there? Now that was a view.

I was a great ride-even on a cloudy day-then on to Eagle Harbor Inn for a belated birthday dinner-doesn't get much better that that!!!!

lac la belle, the front yard of my dreams, my family has stayed at the red sands resort for at least 4 generations. that place is my heaven away from home!!!
