Frederic Koski was out and about on the shores of Lake Superior, when the skies took on a different sort of look. I'm not sure if that's an ominous sign or if the clouds just opened up to show that brilliantly bright display in all its glory. Spectacular to say the least and pretty much indescribable, so I'm just going to stop babbling and let you just enjoy the wonder of this scene.

"Good morning", Superior is alway's spectacular. As alway's the pictures are awsome.

WOW! Now that's a great picture.

Great picture, the clouds have been on a roll here too in Mid MI. I think we are close to the average mark for rain totals. We sure need it, just not all at one time.

We had a few of those last night, but no beautiful lake to go with it.

Wish I were there. The UP is my favorite place on earth. Thanks for the pictures and thanks even more for Pasty Central day in history. I have learned so much about Michigan. Names of your counties, cities, townships many of them now have people connected to them for me. Being from Ohio I didn't have alot of background to put them all together. It's the first thing I look at each morning. Anyone who has'nt should check it out. Thanks!!!!!

Beautiful picture... I can almost hear the beginning rumbles of thunder in the distance.

By Brooke (Lovethekeweenaw) on Tuesday, June 17, 2008 - 08:48 am:

Yet look how calm the lake still is.

By Janie T. (Bobbysgirl) on Tuesday, June 17, 2008 - 09:33 am:

We sure have seen plenty of that type, and even worse than those, clouds lately!

By Mr. Bill (Mrbill) on Tuesday, June 17, 2008 - 09:36 am:

Awesome new screensaver.

Hi
I saw some interesting cloud formations at sunset this last Sunday, after one set of thunderstorms rolled through. Alas, I was nowhere near a Great Lake.

By Paul Roberts (Grizzlyadams) on Tuesday, June 17, 2008 - 10:17 am:

Wow! Awesome picture!!!! I LOVE cloud shots. That's the reason I love rainy weather. Most people will hate me for this but I have loved our summer thus far! The rain has allowed for some awesome clouds. Plus I love fall and this is just a fringe benefit. Fall started and will last until October this year! :-) Wahoo!! Ok. I'LL stop babbling before I get pummeled with frozen pasties.

By Capt. Paul (Eclogite) on Tuesday, June 17, 2008 - 02:18 pm:

We'll take some of that rain and cool temps here!! I'm getting tired of these 100+ degree days and no rain since April......

By Debra J. McCumber (Debwaugh) on Tuesday, June 17, 2008 - 02:41 pm:

Oh my! What a gorgeous picture! This has to be one of my favorite ones yet. I vote for it on the 2009 Pasty Cam calendar! Great shot Fred - sure wish I could've been there to see it as well!

I agree with Paul. I love rainy days, especially in the spring and fall. I do not mean pourng rain, but a nice drizzly day along with some fog. Of course it is even better if I am somewhere along Lake Superior. We have had some cooler days, along with some fall looking clouds, in the last few days and I am enjoying that. I am not one for sticky icky days even for one day. That is why summer is my least favorite season. Too hot and humid.

Awesome picture.
Great videos also Charlie, you've really made some advancement to the website. Thanks' for the learning experience.

Love the clouds. Best just before a storm... even better right at sunset ... or the occasional sunrise ;0)
