Still getting some kinks worked out in this new format. It's deja vu all over again. Loved Valentine's Day so much, thought we'd do it again. Check back later, and we'll have this corrected.

...and by noon it was updated. See note below.

it's worth the wait - thanks

Good Morning, Everyone! Happy Friday, of a long weekend! (Monday is President's Day.)

By Tom Wright (Tomw) on Friday, February 15, 2008 - 08:26 am:

What's the story with those two cars? The one on the right looks suspiciously close to the one on the left. A little problem with the slick surfaces, perhaps?

And Good Glorioski if the Ontario Legislature hasn't made Monday
Family Day here in Ontario. It works for me!

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Friday, February 15, 2008 - 08:39 am:

Good morning everybody. Will definitely check back, Charlie.

Yup, Monday is President's Day so I have that day off. Too bad I have to work tomorrow and it ruins my 3 day weekend. Would have gone to da UP otherwise. Oh well. Have a great day everybody.

"What's the story with those two cars?"

Funny 'ting, someone asked that same question the first time that picture appeared as well.

That's just 'cuz it's the location of the Houghton Post Office curbside drop box.

By Charlie at Pasty Central (Chopper) on Friday, February 15, 2008 - 11:59 am:

Finally update the Cameo to Feb 15th, instead of 14th. The picture Frank and Tom referenced was the view of downtown Houghton, which appeared first on yesterday's What'sUP. If everything is displaying as intended, you should see either a wood stove or a bat on a feeder up above, depending on whether you have played the Cameo yet.

Charlie: What's an 'ad-link harvester' and how does that work? You mentioned it about Taka's site as well.

I'm really curious.
thanks

Charlie
Tanks for all your hard work, period!

By kosk in Toronto (Koskintoronto) on Friday, February 15, 2008 - 02:16 pm:

Charlie--It's a lovely combination of photos. Thanks. We KNEW
you had that special kind of radio voice.

By Chuck K (Chuckclarkston) on Friday, February 15, 2008 - 02:31 pm:

Hey Charlie...the last picture in your Cameo is a flying squirel not a bat. They came to my parents bird feeder at night. You would see a streak go past the window and then one would come down the tree to feed.

By Alex "UP-Goldwinger" (Alex) on Friday, February 15, 2008 - 03:01 pm:

Very nice!

By Charlie at Pasty Central (Chopper) on Friday, February 15, 2008 - 03:17 pm:

Thanks for all the thanks, everybody.

In regard to the "ad-link harvesters", it is a strategy which exploits expired domain names, which have built up a following over the years. If the name is not diligently renewed by the owner, an opportunist may snap it up and fill it with click-through ads, which generate a stream of revenue. I see this has happened both to cutonion.com and picturemichigan.net.

Does anyone know if Sharon is okay? She didn't post to her Journal yesterday and hasn't yet today.

By Marsha, Genesee/Aura (Marsha) on Friday, February 15, 2008 - 10:19 pm:

Sharon's journal is now available for today.

By eugenia r. thompson (Ert) on Saturday, February 16, 2008 - 11:04 am:

Thanks, Marsha. I just checked it and was glad to see it there! Some sort of glitch on the 14th. So glad all is well.
