Charlie at Pasty Central (Chopper) on Sunday, November 11, 2007 - 07:00 am:

I understand the eastern U.P. was hit with some snow yesterday. But temps in the 40's this morning have made it disappear in the Copper Country. Much the same look as it was 8 years ago in Chassell on the Pasty Cam.

Congrats to the Menominee Maroons football team! They traveled down my way yesterday to Gaylord to face one of our rivals, the Standish Panthers. Menominee won 41-20 to move on to next Saturdays' state semifinal contest against Grand Rapids West Catholic at the Marquette Superior Dome.

In honor of Veterans Day:

We should honor the veterans for they act like a shield.
Protecting us from danger, keeping America healed.
So if you would take a second to commemorate,
You will instantly see,
We owe veterans our gratitude,
For they are the reason we are free.

By David Soumis (Davesou) on Sunday, November 11, 2007 - 08:56 am:

and to honor them even more, press your congressmen to start funding adequately the VA hospitals, and to provide better aftercare for them when they come back from combat.

25% of the homeless in the US are veterans. Its a disgrace.

I stand and salute each and every veteran, my brothers and sisters, that have served us, and shed a tear for those that have given the ultimate sacrifice, that we and their families can live in this great country with the freedoms we enjoy They deserve our being more vigilant in protecting our rights and freedoms from those that desire to tread on those liberties, as is happening right now under the guise of fear in this country

Good morning!

Davesou, you're very vigilant and I commend you.

By Marianne Y (Marianne) on Sunday, November 11, 2007 - 09:57 am:

Good Morning, Everyone! That's cool, Tim. Congratulations to Midland High School for their Division 2 Regional Playoffs win over Davison on Friday night. The score was a bit odd, 7 to 3; it sounds more like a baseball score than a football score. It was a real battle of the defenses of both teams. We now go on to play Lowell in the Division 2 Semifinals, on a neutral field, Lansing Everett High, next Saturday at 1 pm. This will be Midland's first SemiFinals game since 1994. Congratulations, Midland High!

By Kathy P. (Katiaire) on Sunday, November 11, 2007 - 01:40 pm:

What happened to Michigan yesterday? I was estatic when I read in the paper this morning Il beat Ohio...until I read Michigan went down to Wisconsin. Well, both Michigan and Ohio should really be pumped for next week's game.

By Uncle Chuck @ Little Betsy (Unclechuck) on Sunday, November 11, 2007 - 01:55 pm:

Just love watching the NFL while The Big Lake sings in the background, can't beat it!

By Snowman (Snowman) on Sunday, November 11, 2007 - 02:23 pm:

Go ahead Uncle Chuck, rub it in. :)

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Sunday, November 11, 2007 - 02:24 pm:

Thanks, Uncle Chuck! We really needed to hear that while sitting here just plain old watching the NFL. You're a peach!

By Capt. Paul (Eclogite) on Sunday, November 11, 2007 - 02:46 pm:

It actually didn't matter who won/lost yesterday, a trip to the Rose Bowl will be decided in The Big House next Saturday at high noon. Although, I was darn happy that the buckeyes lost and to Illinois of all teams. Go Blue!!!

Now I'm actually pulling for Kansas, the laughing stock of the Big 12, to run the table. If Kansas does run the table and doesn't make the championship game, that would be the ultimate "jacked up" moment of the year in college football....

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Sunday, November 11, 2007 - 02:51 pm:

Because we all know that there are no politics involved with team rankings and such. Go Jayhawks!! We always look forward to the game of the year, GO BLUE!!

Mr. Deb

34 - 0

I've never felt so good about a Packer win over the Vikings.

By Heikki (Heikki) on Sunday, November 11, 2007 - 04:07 pm:

What a rout, eh? It's gonna be a long ride home today for the Vikes.....with their horns tucked between their legs. LOL!!

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Sunday, November 11, 2007 - 04:20 pm:

The Packers could have at least allowed the Vikings one TD at the end so my numbers would have matched and I'd have won the final. Stupid Vikings can't do anything right.

By Betty Paull Colborn,AZ (Betty) on Sunday, November 11, 2007 - 04:23 pm:

Congrats Tim on the early bird...

By Eva (Upergal) on Sunday, November 11, 2007 - 04:56 pm:

Well the snow is still on the ground here by Champion! We did get the full 1 ft. of last Mon. night and 2 or 3 ft. where it drifted! We got bypassed by so many storms last winter. Hope it gets back to that! Got called in to work but I made it with my front wheel drive anyway! Now its in 40's, heat wave I guess? Take care all, and you can keep the snow up there! lol

By Snowman (Snowman) on Sunday, November 11, 2007 - 05:38 pm:

Vikings? What about the "Bad News Bears"?

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Sunday, November 11, 2007 - 05:42 pm:

Did they lose???

By Snowman (Snowman) on Sunday, November 11, 2007 - 05:47 pm:

Do they win is the question. :(

By Michael Du Long (Mikie) on Sunday, November 11, 2007 - 05:48 pm:

Glad to see that Tim won the early bird, I am now going to try for the late owl. Having won the early bird on several occaisions I now am striving for the late owl.

By Fran in GA (Francesinga) on Sunday, November 11, 2007 - 06:24 pm:

Go Pack!!!! Unfortunately they only showed the first part of the game and then switched over to some other game. Totally wierd. I have never seen that done before.

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Sunday, November 11, 2007 - 06:26 pm:

It's because they were so far ahead, Fran. It happens frequently.

I see the Lions are losing. DRAT!!

I need to unsubcribe to this site. These messages are clogging my email box. How do you unsubcribe.

Editor's Note: Leslie and anyone else wondering about this. At some point in your registration to post messages, checkmarks were placed in your "Profile" requesting that you receive emails whenever someone posts on certain subjects.
All you need do to stop them, is go the "Profile Editor" page here: Profile Editor.
Login and click on "E-Mail Notification". If there are any check marks there, remove them and click, "Save this Information". That's it, the E-Mail notifications should stop.

Leslie, I already took care of that for you. If anyone has any questions on this, feel free to email me at:

Leslie Ann Strand (Strand):
"These messages are clogging my email box."

If that's the only issue, then a better solution, without 'tossing the baby out with the bathwater' would be to simply turn off those emails!

The steps are as follows:
1. Go to the PastyCam Profile Editor page.
2. At the top of that page, in Profile Editor Options,
click on the E-mail Notification link.
3. Once there, see if any of the following options are checked:
[ ] Cam Notes - 2007
[ ] Cam Notes - 2006
[ ] Cam Notes - 2005
[ ] Cam Notes - 2004
[ ] Various Topics
[ ] notes in prior version

and a bit further down the page:
[ ] Replies to my posts

and still further down the page:
[ ] My own posts

3. Then simply click on those check boxes that show a checkmark. Verify that the each checkmark vanishes.
4. Scroll down to find the next button as reads:
[Save this information]
5. Click on that button.

6. Close your browser window.

You will not get any further emails generated by from this site due to any messages posted in any of the various forums.

I never get any such email from this site myself, and I agree that it would be a nuisance to receive 'em. They would serve no purpose for me, especially since I'm on this site several times a day anyway.

Having watched the Packers wipe out the Vikings I kinda felt bad for them. How DID the Bears do? Was watching Anne of Green Gables and forgot to keep tract of the Bears.
