With fall winding down all around the U.P. now, folks are really gearing up for the arrival of Halloween by decorating their yards and homes. Looks like Doug and Becky Grusser have really gotten into the spirit of decorating for the trick or treaters that will come knocking. Doug is busy hanging a witch who took a wrong turn and went SPLAT on the shed wall, while a toothy looking gentleman is guarding their mailbox. I'm betting nobody messes with their deliveries. :->

That third picture, pretty much represents what all of us around the Keweenaw are seeing now. Most of the leaves are covering the ground instead of the branches, but here and there, you'll find a few diehards hanging on to give us a last burst of color.

Looks like some little boys and girls will get a little frightened. LOL I guess that's the idea right? We're not having our hanuted house this year but we're bussing the kids to a nearby town that is having one. Should be fun.

Of course the third picture is amazing!

Pinckney has a lot going on in the town square for halloween, so thats where we will be and will trick or treat on our way in the few blocks and then back home. When up north I saw a house on Traprock Valley rd that was pretty decked out, lots of lights.

In our part of Idaho, not many decorate for Halloween. That is why I love going back to the midwest during this time. I had forgotten it was a big decorating time of the year. Kids don't come to houses much anymore. They have Trunk or Treating in the church parking lots now.
Safety factor I'm thinking.

No one decorates for Halloween in our neighborhood except for a few pumpkins sitting out.

Love the color of the trees in the third pic :) That is one thing I miss about Michigan: the beautiful colors in the fall.

We get the whole she-bang here, witches, pumpkins, scary stuff and some really stupid stuff. Kinda big here. I love the witch though.

Great pictures this morning! I especially like the second and third ones. That is an great scary guy by the mailbox. And the third picture is just awesome; it speaks for itself. Thank you, Doug & Becky and Mary!

Nice pictures. We really get into the Halloween spirit. Getting into it as we speak;

What does a vampire never order at a restaurant?
A stake sandwich...

Nice pics Doug and Becky, looks like county rd KK by Big Bay. There is still some nice yellow out there, contrasts nicely with a blue sky.
Go Blue!!

There are lots of decorating and parties in our area. I love Halloween...just a good time to have fun.

The best Halloween event for me is when we head for Duluth and go through the S.S. William A. Irvin haughted ore freighter. The theatrical(sp?) students of U.M. Duluth put this on and it is awesome!

By kosk in Toronto (Koskintoronto) on Saturday, October 27, 2007 - 03:42 pm:

Bobbysgirl--I would love to see that! At Fort Niagara there is a
haunted candlelight tour that is supposed to be very spooky.
I would love to go to that too.

Our neighborhood here in Toronto is filled with decorations for the
holiday. I enjoy looking at them as I walk the dog.

We have all of the businesses participate in trick-or-treating in our town. All of the kids get to go out from 3 until 5 and trick or treat at all who participate. It makes it safer to be out in the daytime. Unfortunately for some kids, their parents can't be home that early and they don't get to go. We have this old time settlement in town called Pioneer Park. Every year they decorated it all up nice and scary like and handed out candy to trick or treaters. That too was a nice safe place for the kids to go. But now the group that put it on is tired of it. So sad! But our whole town is pretty much decorated for the occasion. My house is all decorated too, even though all we get out here is our grandchildren and the neighbor's grandchildren. We buy candy though. LOL Yup, Mr. Deb eats it!
