Expansion project at Gitche Gumee eight years ago. Many times this camp in Eagle River has been the subject of our picture of the day, and no surprise - we were first introduced to the Keweenaw because of this place. As teen campers back in the 60's, we fell in love with this region known as the Copper Country, and vowed if we ever had the chance, to live here. About 20 years later we moved here year-round. That was almost 20 years ago, so we've lived here about half of the time we've been aware it existed.

Good morning everybody! Hope everybody had a great Mother's Day. Now it's back to reality and work.

It is a rainy day here in mid-Michigan - the song Rainy Days & Mondays would be quite appropriate for today. While I'm not fond of the rain, the vegetation here could use a little drink, and at least we had nice weather this weekend. I hope that we don't get all of the 2 inches that they are mentioning for today, though, as that's a bit on the excessive side.

Anyone know when the Harbor Haus will open? I'm sure Sharon will be there soon after, and we will hear about that. Is the Jampot open yet? If not, it'll be any day. Starting to rain here, but it's only s'posed to be rainy this morning. Lakisha (Flint's own from American Idol) will be on Regis & Kelly this a.m. and Ellen this afternoon.

Marsha - Harbor Haus is scheduled to open Memorial Day weekend, as usual. And yes, I will be there on that Sunday, hosting a thank-you dinner for the people who kept me dug out over the winter.

Llamamamma...yes I have a miniature mare, Melody, who is due between May 28th and June 1st!! This will be her first baby, and I am going to be on a 10 day vacation during this time, as mini's can have problems delivering. I have delivered foals before so I know the "midwife" skills, pull as they push. Have any baby Llama's?
