Eight years ago this father-son duo from Ohio stopped in at Still Waters to show us their collection of favorite photos from the Pasty Cam. They made the trek over 600 miles just to visit some of those sights we had been sharing day-after-day. It was a real encouragement to those of us working on the web project, knowing that real people enthusiastically shared our love of the beauty, history and culture of Upper Michigan.

Good Morning, still cold not quite as windy. My daughter is flying in from Virginia Beach tomorrow, she is not going to like this!

Charlie, you can add me to those who love the beauty, history and culture of Upper Michigan, even though I've never been there except by visiting your site each day. I have shared many of the great pictures posted with my family and friends. They all know to expect something special when the email subject is 'another great pic from Pasty.com'! Yesterday's springtime snow pic brought back a touching memory and I sent it to my 20 year old grandson and my daughter. When his mother returned to work after he was born, I watched as she brought him to my door through a beautiful springtime snow fall on March 30, 1987. Snow is rather rare in Memphis, TN but snow the end of March was amazing! Thanks for such a wonderful and uplifting site.

We've been to the UP twice, now. (wish we could go more). But what really gets us is the pictures on Pasty everyday. We will move there one day. For now, we see what it has to offer. You brighten our days, (and when we can't sleep, our nights). Thank goodness for Pasty.com. Don't know what we would do without you.

Good Morning! Happy Good Friday!

I shared the movie link that Tom G sent yesterday with my son who is at MTU. While he enjoyed the short film, he was most disappointed with its ending point at the far eastern part of the UP! He thought the movie was only half done--where was the rest of the UP? :-) Note: I had instant messaged the movie link to him, but he was away from his computer, so I had no response. And then, some 4 hours later when I was getting ready to go to bed, he responded they can't conclude with those falls... I was half asleep, & it took me a minute to figure out what he was talking about. LOL

I really enjoyed that link for the film on Michigan. But I also was surprised that they left out western UP. I love so many places I've seen in Michigan, but the western UP and the Keweenaw are my favorites.

What is this new Winter Storm Warning stuff for UP there? Enough already!

I see they add about an inch tonight & another 1 to 2" for us here in mid-Michigan tomorrow. This truly is a winter turned upside down, like John Dee said!

We are eagerly anticipating the arrival of the REAL spring! April Fool's Day was days ago!

Well, Dean, you can cross country ski plenty more this season. And, if Mt Ripley was already closed for the season, they can just re-open it--no artificial snow making required!

On the bright side: kids can build snow bunnies instead of snowmen for Easter. :-) My husband built a really cool snow bunny with/for my sons here in mid-Michigan a few years ago, but that year, Easter was in March, not April.

Thumbgardner, how are your husband and your daughter doing? I am praying for their speedy recoveries, & that your husband's new kidney begins functioning soon!

Kevin, I'm praying that you find your bone marrow very soon, and that your transplant is successful.

Helen of Hubbell, I'm glad you finally got your Coke! I had been wondering if you ever got it.

Brooke--I'm sure that your daughter will not be pleased with our Michigan weather if she is from Virgina Beach! But, I'm sure that being together (inside) will make for warm memories.

It is incredible that the UP has a new Winter Storm Warning today for more snow! That's a real bummer. Most of the US is supposed to have a cold Easter, with much of it being wet in some form or another.

I hope everyone has a very Happy Easter, albeit with less than wonderful weather!
