Along Cliff Drive near Ahmeek in 1998. Horizontal snow and 20 below...doesn't it give your heart a glow?

Four days till Christmas. Good morning. Foggy and rainy here. No snow in sight.

By Marianne Y (Marianne) on Thursday, December 21, 2006 - 08:45 am:

I just looked at Mich Tech's web cams, & they are making snow like crazy on Mt Ripley this morning.

I'm not a fan of snow, but I would love to have an inch of snow here in mid-Michigan, just enough to have a white Christmas!

By Jim Nicholas (Jimn) on Thursday, December 21, 2006 - 09:14 am:

I GUESS IF EVERYONE WANTS SNOW, THEY SHOULD GO TO DENVER. I DON'T THINK THERE IS AN EASY WAY TO GET THERE THOUGH. HAVE A GREAT DAY WHERE EVER YOU ARE. MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL.

Hmmm ... snow? :)
Actually I was quite happy with no snow today, but two hours of motorcycling in the sun, with the cold wind in my face. :))

Lamar County Colorado just North of Denver has a snowfall of 52" and it's still falling. They were enjoying 50 & 60 degree temps last week. Denver has 4' drifts on the city streets. Travel in Colorado is not advised. Southern Wyoming is also hard hit and we have another storm heading our way tomorrow. It's making me homesick for the UP! Happy Holidays everyone!

By Gonna be a Yooper (Joanie) on Thursday, December 21, 2006 - 11:30 am:

There's no business like snow business, this I sure do really know. Everything about it is appealing, I can hear the kiddies start their squealing. Let it snow, snow, snow!!!

No need for applause, I know I'm good.

By maija in Commerce Township (Maija) on Thursday, December 21, 2006 - 12:35 pm:

Thank you, jAPEi and Hannele. A very merry Christmas and happy new year to you and all your dear ones.

By Gonna be a Yooper (Joanie) on Thursday, December 21, 2006 - 01:12 pm:

The weather outside is frightful but the fire inside delightful. We don't have any snow, so it's off to Denver we go!

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO EVERYONE!!

By Therese (Therese) on Thursday, December 21, 2006 - 01:30 pm:

I remember 2001, when we dispaired of snow for Christmas. It began snowing on Christmas Eve here along Little Traverse Bay (at the Tip of the Mitt). A bit of snow on Christmas, a lot more that night and a real storm the next day, for a total of 90 inches from one storm. All localized lake effect: ten miles north of me the ground was still bare.

By Capt. Paul (Eclogite) on Thursday, December 21, 2006 - 01:49 pm:

Goodness Therese, whatever you did in 2001, dont do it again!! you must have really angered Heikki Lunta.... ;-)

Yooperdfs, my Dad worked in Niagara for almost 30 years and it is a sweet little town. Get a Club House pasty sometime. Very tasty.

By Gonna be a Yooper (Joanie) on Thursday, December 21, 2006 - 03:46 pm:

Chestnuts roasting on an open fire, the weather man is a big fat liar. Heard on thirty-two, we might get a flurry, just a few, but as I'm gazing out the window, it sure as heck ain't true!

WISHING YOU ALL A WHITE CHRISTMAS!!!

By Gonna be a Yooper (Joanie) on Thursday, December 21, 2006 - 05:47 pm:

Gotta go, I know you'll miss me, have to go to the store. I'm making YOOPER cookies tomorrow.
I need to get enough M&M's to make smilie faces!

By Anita Marsy-Bosley (Anitamb) on Thursday, December 21, 2006 - 07:31 pm:

I would like to post a message for people who live in the Calumet area. A co-worker has lost her 4 year-old female Malamute dog. The dog is blind and wandered away on Tuesday evening. The dogs' name is Unni. They live on Rockland Street in Calumet. If anyone sees this dog please call John & Carol Desiatto at 337-5958. Help make their Christmas wish come true.
