It’s Independence Day and this year we’re celebrating the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, the Semiquincentennial. Here on Pasty Central, we’re celebrating by flying the Stars and Stripes with a beautiful sunset sky in the background that Jean Dessellier captured from her deck in Lake Linden. Along with the American Flag, we’re also whooping it UP with several photos from the Bridgefest Fireworks display near the Portage Lake Lift Bridge, snapped by Isaac Diener. My favorite of the two is the red, white and blue fireworks in the second photo, captured perfectly with the lights from the Bridge shining on the water, too. We hope you’re enjoying the 4th of July festivities wherever you are and doing so responsibly and safely.
Michelle Lutke says that the perfect ending to a perfect day in the Keweenaw, is cooking dinner on one of their favorite beaches, Agate Beach in Toivola, as they watch the sun go down. I agree, it looks and sounds absolutely perfect. Make sure you turn your volume up to hear sound of the waves rolling in. Be sure to check out Michelle and Brett’s adventures on their webpage: Wandering Michigan
Happy 4th of July!
