It’s days like this on the Pasty Cam, when I wish we had smell-o-vision. Jean Dessellier captured an apple tree here in the Keweenaw, loaded with blossoms and she told me that she loves apple blossom season because her yard smells so good! I can vouch for that also, as I encounter those fragrant whiffs on my walks and have to look around a bit and there they are. Such a pretty scene and scent!

The bottom three photos are from Donna MacIntosh and are lilacs, my very favorite flower and like the apple blossoms, you can smell lilacs before you see them. The trouble with both of these blooms, is they don’t last long enough, so while they’re blooming, get out there and enjoy the sight and smell of them.

Did you know that this time of year it rains flowers? Frederic Koski, over at Fred Koski Photography, captured that phenomenon recently. Make sure you turn up your volume... you won’t hear the blooms falling, but you’ll hear the birds and other nature sounds in the background.

Apple blossoms and lilacs. Lovely combination.

I lived in a place, where the backyard was an old
apple orchard....I loved walking in there...the air
was perfume! That is a blessing to experience that
one. The pictures are gorgeous.

I was finally able to get up close to that lilac
tree....took the pictures, grabbed a couple of
stems to bring in...my little abode smelled pretty
good!

Absolutely beautiful photos today, and I totally
agree these blooms fade way too quickly!
Donna, glad you got a Lilac bouquet to bring in,
and wish we could bottle that aroma lol!

All of these pictures are so gorgeous. Lilacs are
my favorite and, Cindy, the smell can be bottled. I
have lilac scented candles, body wash and lotion,
hand wash, plug-ins, etc. And I use every single
one. I'm sure there are more, too.

Donna, as always, glad you got out a bit to pick
some flowers and share them with us.

Hi
That first close-up of apple blossum was splendid. I
love lilacs, too, but I find they don't last that long
after being cut.

The video was lovely and peaceful.
