It’s always fun to wrap UP the week with the Adventures of Fritz and Jeff & Chris Dennis. They recently hopped in the kayak and did some paddling around Eagle Harbor, capturing a neat shot of the Lighthouse between the rocks. Looks like there was a bit of ice still hanging on to the rock on the left. In the next photo, though, there is plenty of ice still on the rocks along the shoreline. Make sure you check out the fancy new haircut on Fritz while he’s enjoying the ride.

On another day, the family headed out to Misery Bay and followed the sun on what looks like a perfect day for kayaking. Just about flat and I love how Jeff captured the sun, looking more like the star it really is at the center of our solar system.

After that they took a walk along the beach and were treated to the 768 foot John G. Munson close by out on Lake Superior, which is always a treat to see, both the Lake and the boat. Then Fritz found a large hollowed-out log on the beach and had to investigate inside it...looks like Jeff may have gone in there on the opposite end, too!

Speaking of investigating, we join Dr. Nat at the locks in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, for a lesson on the Soo Locks. She was actually there in 2025 while they were building a new lock so there will be two locks that can accommodate freighters that are longer than 1000 feet. The new lock project is in its third and final phase which involves constructing the new lock itself and is scheduled for completion in the summer of 2030.

Omgosh! These are fabulous! I can't nail down a
favorite, though I really love that first one. And
fritz with the boat is awesome also.

These are all so stunning! Thank you Jeff, Chris
and Fritz...you kept us going all winter! I love
all the pics, but Fritz in the log is just awesome!

And thanks to Dr. Nat. She does awesome vids all
over the country!

That moment of inward breath, that pause and
awareness of “how beautiful this is” is a prayer of
appreciation, a moment of gratitude in which I
behold beauty and am one with it.

Beautiful pics and you can't go wrong with Fritz in
them as well.

Hi
I like the photo of Fritz on the beach with the Munson
in the background. Fritz looks happy to be on shore and
free to walk around.

Donna, great quote; I know the feeling.

That pic of Fritz and the freighter is simply a classic! And good thing there wasn't an overwintering critter like a skunk or opossum still in that log for Fritz to introduce himself to!

By Uncle Chuck (Unclechuck) on Saturday, May 2, 2026 - 09:03 pm:

No kidding George!! I worry about Whitaker going
out and investigating and getting tagged by a
skunk as well. When I open the door, if I get any
indication of skunk smell.... Whit gets put on his
leash and he stays with me close to the door. lol
Most of my senses are shot, but my sense of smell
still works pretty well.

Well, I've been cleared to drive again, so that's
a good feeling. Weight restriction of lifting no
more than ten pounds has been increased to twenty
for the next sixty days. I start Cardiac rehab mid
month. Slow and steady... I found that out the
hard way... again, but I'm feeling better once
again. Hoping to get back U.P. to God's Country in
late July, towing the fifth wheel as well.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend Pasty Family, back
to the Tiger's baseball game now. Remember...
"Helsinki's Booming" :=))
