What I wouldn’t give to spend a day watching the birds that visit Kevin Dunham’s feeding station in Munising. He has such a colorful array of visitors, which he captures expertly to share with us. Not only all the colors, but he also snags some great shots of their antics, too.

He recently took some interesting photos of the deer around the Munising area. He said he counted 62 deer in one yard down at Sand Point, overlooking Munising Bay and he figured they’re all really hungry and somewhat tame. So be on the alert when driving around, as they may dart out in front of you without warning, like the one in his bottom photo. Also of note in the bottom shot, it looks like the deer in the background is checking to see if she’s got mail!

We head back to the Keweenaw for today’s video from In The Keweenaw, with a look at the Spring warm-up starting. We’re beginning to see water emerging on the canal. Note this was recorded around the end of March, so conditions may have changed a bit since then.

Kevin’s pictures are just amazing. There are a bunch of deer that
we see often either on our way to church or on the way home.
Last night it was rather comical watching them walk single file on
the road. In total there are at least 20 and fun to come upon. Of
course, we are driving slowly in anticipation of seeing these crazy
girls!

I just love Kevin's pictures. You always know who
they belong to before you read the post. They are
amazing.

Yep, I saw the first pic opening up Pasty today and
said "Kevin's at it"....his pics are so
phenomenal!!

YES, watch for deer...if you see one, lay on your
horn. It scares them back the way they came, and
there's always one behind the first. So save
yourself AND the deer! Use your horn. It works.

Hi
I like the picture of the blue jay in flight...they are
all good though.

Once when I was driving I saw a deer coming from the
left. I did what they say not to do: swerved to the
right...and in doing so I hit a rumble strip. That
scared the deer into turning around. Regardless, it can
happen that you don't see them in time to either stop
or scare them into getting out of the way.
