I think I’ve mentioned before how much Donna MacIntosh enjoys watching the Michigan Tech webcams, especially when there is something special going on, like last week with the Winter Carnival. Donna grabbed some still shots from the webcams of the Torchlight parade as it cascaded down Mont Ripley, followed by the fireworks shortly after the parade. In the second webcam shot, you can see someone walking down the canal, they did so to get in a good spot to capture photos. You can see that person in all of the fireworks photos, too. What a great vantage point to snap pictures from. Although, Donna’s webcam captures turned out pretty good and she was a lot warmer capturing them, too.

Visit Keweenaw shares a video from the night of the fireworks, with all the snap, crackle, pops included. Their lead-in says: “Moments that stop you in your tracks. True winter, shared together in the Copper Country - the kind of events you just don't find anywhere.

Awesome pictures, Donna. And you didn't even have
to brave the cold. Very nice. My favorite is that
2nd one. I just love seeing Mont Ripley at night.

That was so awesome to watch...Thankfully...I
remembered!~ When I saw that person walking on the
canal...wow....That was such a cool spot to be.
The hills were lit up, and then shut down, and the
torchlight parade started. I'm sure it was
phenomenal in person, but I got the next best
thing!
